Sound familiar? Got an IT startup idea but not sure how to turn it into a product?
Or this? Have an MVP but aren't sure it actually solves a real user problem?

Every great startup once had nothing but an idea.

But an idea is only the beginning!

What it takes
  1. 1

Define the problem, your value proposition, and who you're building it for.

  2. 2

Break the idea down into testable business hypotheses instead of assumptions.

  3. 3

Test hypotheses through interviews, traffic, and feedback from real customers.

  4. 4

Build an MVP - sometimes a landing page or a prototype is enough to test whether the idea holds up.

  5. 5

Attract your first loyal users, gauge demand before a full launch, and pick up the market's first signals.

About the program

What to expect in Almaty Hub Incubation

In 12 weeks, you'll learn to make product decisions. Every day you'll work on your own startup - from validating the idea to building a product ready to test on the market.

01

Test ideas - don't just believe in them

Turn the idea into a set of testable hypotheses, learn to identify real user needs, and gauge demand before investing time and resources into development.

02

Build a product with minimal spend

You'll quickly test solutions on a small budget using interviews, a landing page, a prototype, or a simple MVP.

03

Know what to do next

The results of each test help you decide what's next: refine the product, test a new assumption, adjust the target audience, or move to the next stage of growth.

How the program works

How the program runs

After the selection stage, participants go through 12 weeks of the program: the first 4 weeks online, the next 8 weeks offline at Almaty Hub. Moving between stages depends on the team's progress and results.

01 Selection stage

Selection and project assessment

You submit an application to join the program. Once applications close, the Almaty Hub team screens them and selects projects that meet the program's criteria.

What's assessed during selection:
  • how relevant the problem is
  • the potential of the proposed solution
  • how developed the project is
  • the team's competencies and motivation
  • the project's potential for further growth

The selection results determine the participants of Almaty Hub Incubation.

02 4 weeks · online

Educational stage

Participants go through online training and immediately apply what they learn to their own projects. The curriculum covers market research, Customer Development, hypothesis testing, MVP building, business modeling, marketing, sales, and other key areas of startup growth.

After each class, participants complete practical assignments, test hypotheses, and show how well they work under time pressure.

What's assessed at this stage:
  • engagement and pace of work
  • quality of completed assignments
  • ability to apply knowledge in practice
  • project progress
  • the team's readiness to move forward

At the end of the stage, there's an interim progress review. Teams that show the best results and the most potential move on to the next stage.

03 4 weeks · offline

Building, testing, and developing the MVP

Teams move into intensive offline work on their projects at Almaty Hub. Together with trackers and experts, participants build or refine their MVP, test key hypotheses on a minimal budget, and test the product with their target audience.

At this stage, teams learn to:
  • choose which hypotheses to test
  • launch experiments fast and on a minimal budget
  • find potential users
  • collect and analyze feedback
  • identify weak points and growth opportunities in the product
  • make decisions based on test results

At the end of the stage, progress is evaluated. Teams that showed the best results move on to the final part of the program.

Refining the project and preparing for Demo Day

Teams continue improving the product based on the data and feedback they've gathered. They refine the business model, polish the MVP, map out next steps, and package up the results of their work.

Special attention goes into the project presentation:
  • the structure and logic of the Pitch Deck
  • key results and validated hypotheses
  • the reasoning behind the business model
  • public speaking skills
  • preparing for questions from experts and investors

Before the final pitch, teams run through practice sessions and get recommendations on how to refine their presentation.

Only teams that showed the best results and were selected present at Demo Day.

Why it works

Strong startups don't rely on luck - they systematically find what the market actually needs

You can spend months improving a product, adding features, and burning through budget, only to find out users never wanted it in the first place. That's why most startups fail not because of a weak idea or bad technology, but because of decisions made without market validation.

What changes

Before and after the program

The program gives you the system and tools to take an idea to a finished product - what happens next depends on the team: speed, mindset, and the ability to work with data.

Before the program
  • An idea untested on real customers
  • An undefined target audience
  • Lots of assumptions, little data
  • No clear MVP
After the program
  • Validated business hypotheses
  • Customer understanding through Customer Development
  • A finished MVP and the first signs of demand
  • A clear next step after Demo Day

The result depends on the team: speed, mindset, and readiness to act on data. The program gives you the system that helps take an idea to a finished product.
