Astana Hub is actively looking for a 2nd Line Desktop Engineer at the TUMO Center in Astana. We are looking for a candidate with knowledge in the field of desktop systems/end-user computing support, as well as a good understanding of IT infrastructure, networks and security. The candidate must be prepared to work in an ITIL-based Service Desk environment. This role requires the support of a fleet of devices consisting of a combination of Apple macOS and Chromebooks, as well as peripherals such as printers, tablets, audio and video equipment needed to support educational and organizational activities.
TUMO is an innovative center for continuing education, which allows teenagers to independently pave the way for learning. Founded in 2011 in Yerevan, Armenia, TUMO has since expanded worldwide, opening centers in Berlin, Paris, Lisbon and other cities. At the TUMO Astana Center, students choose from a variety of interdisciplinary fields, including animation, 3D modeling, programming, robotics, cinematography, graphic design, music, game development, drawing and photography, combining independent study with workshops conducted by professionals.

The position of 2nd Line Desktop Engineer is of great operational importance to TUMO, as it will not only be responsible for solving the problems faced by TUMO students and staff, but also serve as the "eyes and ears" on site, contributing to continuous improvement for all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

A managed Service Desk.

Managed IT infrastructure and networks.

As TUMO operates within a regulatory environment that complies with the requirements of the EU GDPR, knowledge of best practices in cybersecurity and information security is of paramount importance. This affects the setup of Mac workstations, laptops, Chromebooks, etc.

The main focus of this role is to support the Service Desk. Requests can be escalated through TUMO's Service Desk to an international team based in Armenia, if necessary.

Qualification requirements:

Managing end-user computing devices on macOS using JAMF/Mosyle or a similar MDM solution for Apple

Knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Active Directory

User Management in Google Workspace

Support for audio-visual equipment (audio, projectors, televisions)

Strong analytical and organizational skills.
