The it.t Academy educational project (training in system analysis and data analytics) launched a charity program in a test mode in 2025. Socially vulnerable students, mostly orphans, aged 16 and over, were recruited free of charge to study the IT profession.
In total, 4 free places were provided in 2025, 3 of which were allocated to orphans and 1 to a person with disabilities.
In two cases, PC access became a problem: there are few computers in the orphanage, and the time of use for each session is strictly limited. To solve this problem, we contacted the orphanage's management through the ITeachMe Charitable Foundation and agreed to provide longer access to a PC for the duration of our studies.
All four students successfully completed their studies in systems analysis, but they did not continue their studies in their profession: two students were prevented by their age (16 and 17 years old), and two more chose to remain in their current positions.
In the process, we found that working with socially vulnerable categories of students has a number of differences from regular education. "For example, the lecturer's work should include targeted psychotherapeutic effects: all four students showed a tendency to "give up what they started" due to a lack of self-confidence, faith in their own ability to understand the material and succeed in the profession. In order for the training to be brought to a successful conclusion, a trusting format of communication with support and regular collection of feedback must be formed with each student from a socially vulnerable group.
We consider the charity test program to be successfully completed. In our opinion, it is especially important to recruit young people aged 16-20 years: at this age, the brain is most flexible, so the assimilation of complex information forms new neural connections especially quickly and efficiently. Even if the student does not work directly by profession, the effect of the training will be indirectly reflected in the future.
The "Digital Business" media published an article about the charity program. All four students received certificates of completion of their studies. The company's management plans to open a new charity stream in 2026 and 2027.
- Отвязка образовательного процесса от участия лекторов. Ученику по сниженной цене предлагают записанные лекционные материалы, а участие лекторов в образовательном процессе сведено к минимуму или полностью отсутствует;
