There were so many numbers that at some point they started creating chaos themselves.
After the last article, many people wrote one thought very accurately in the comments: CRM and tables do not create order by themselves.
And to be honest, it took me a long time to figure it out.
Because at the beginning of the business it seems:
“now we'll start counting everything, and control will finally appear.”
But in practice, something else appears first.
The tables are starting to multiply))
Especially when the business is growing.
At some point, we had:
- The plan is a fact;
- conversions;
- quality;
- analytics;
- traffic lights;
- details;
- individual executive reports;
- separate project tables.
And each new table seemed very necessary at the time of creation.
But then an interesting thing happened.
New employees appeared. New managers. And everyone started making their own tables.
Someone made a “convenient version". Someone was running a separate Excel.Someone forgot to update the numbers. Someone thought in their own way.
And at some point, it was almost absurd.
People are sitting in the same meeting. They look at the numbers. But everyone's numbers are different))
And the founder is trying to understand at this moment:
“So... which table is the real one?”
The most dangerous thing is that outwardly it already looks like a systemic business.
There is a CRM. There are reports. There are dashboards. The numbers are there.
But it's still chaos inside.
Only now digitized.
And that's when I realized a very unpleasant thing for the first time.:
A large number of numbers does not mean business manageability at all.
Conversely.
Sometimes a huge number of numbers just creates a false sense of control.
Because the problem is often not even the lack of data.
The problem is:
- what numbers are important at all;
- Where is the source of truth;
- who is responsible for the data;
- and where should the founder look at all.
A lot of people initially look only at sales.
We watched it too.
Sales are growing, which means everything seems to be fine.
But then, with experience, you begin to understand that a business can simultaneously grow in revenue... and fall apart inside.
That's probably why we've had a very strange change over time.
Previously, there were more and more tables.
And then, on the contrary, they started to get smaller.
Because understanding gradually came.:The manager doesn't need to see everything.
The manager needs to see the main thing.
And it was after that that we began to go beyond just tables.
And in normal dashboards.
When you can see from above in 5 seconds:what generally happens in business.
And only then, if necessary, you can fall deeper.
And if one piece of advice could be given to the founders at this stage, it would be this: - don't try to digitize all the chaos in a row.
First you need to understand: what exactly in business really affects the result.
Otherwise, you quickly start to drown in your own analytics.
Although the funniest thing happened next.
Even when the numbers are already getting back to normal... founder still often remains a “manual integration" between people.
And this is the next level of chaos))

- план-факт;
- конверсии;
- качество;
- аналитика;
- светофоры;
- детализации;
- отдельные отчёты руководителей;
- какие цифры вообще важны;
- где источник правды;
- кто отвечает за данные;
