Guys, while everyone is arguing which agent is better than Claude Code or Codex, the guys from Warp have quietly made a move, as it seems to me, to a higher level. They released Oz and no no it's not another agent, but a dispatch agent.
But first, I advise you to watch the official video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBTG59a7Bcs
Let's talk about the pain
If you are already chasing coding agents seriously, you are familiar with this picture. I ran one Claude Code, everything is normal. I launched five in parallel so that they could handle different tasks, and hello: local git checkers are fighting with each other, the laptop is frying the CPU and memory, and most importantly, you have no idea what each of them has done there. There are no logs, there is no audit, there is nothing to fumble a session with a colleague.
And this is not a fictional problem, this is exactly what anyone who has moved from "chatting with a chatbot" to "delegating work to agents" is running into. And then Oz comes on the scene in the genre.
What exactly is Oz?
The guys from Warp call it the control plane, or a single control panel for cloud agents. The mechanics are simple. the agent leaves your laptop for an isolated cloud sandbox. There he can crawl through several repositories at once, make cross-repo changes, push commits, open pull requests, run tests, and all without your constant supervision. Each launch automatically receives a sharinglink and an audit trail available through the CLI or API. You can run it interactively or programmatically, hundreds in parallel, according to a schedule.
The logic is simple: you don't build all the bindings for sandboxes, tracking, and orchestration yourself. They give it to you ready. The environment is a Docker container plus git repositories plus startup commands, I set it up once and the whole team uses it.
Oz launched on February 10, 2026 in New York City. It works both inside their Warp terminal and as a separate product via the oz.warp.dev web console (it also plows from the phone) or through the CLI.
A fresh update or that's what it was worth writing this article for
But why write an article for the sake of a banal tool, of which there are thousands, you will ask, and you will be absolutely right! but the news from May 19, 2026 made me pay attention.
The guys from Warp posted information that Oz is being transformed from "another cloud for agents" into a multi-agent platform.
And what is the difference, you may ask?
And I'll answer, "another cloud" solves exactly one problem. Ala, where to put the agent from the laptop. You moved it to the cloud, launched at least a hundred, and it seemed like a victory, but in fact you just scaled up the chaos. There were five lone agents, each with their own result and no trace, and there were a hundred.
They don't see the general context, they repeat each other's mistakes, they fight in the same turnips, and you still don't know which one of them screwed up what. And there's a bill coming in for that hundred.
The platform solves a fundamentally different problem, namely who is conducting all this. The agents share a common context where one screwed up, the others don't climb on the same rake. One controls the others. Everyone has their own rights. Every step is under audit. The company itself calls it the first control plane that runs Claude Code, Codex and Warp Agent side by side (multiharness mode is still in beta, but is open to everyone)
Why should you watch it? if you bet on agents, then your question is "which agent is smarter" and not "where to host it", but "who has his hand on the switch =)". Choosing just a cloud today means in six months either building a layer of orchestration yourself, or drowning in a fleet of autonomous agents who go into production without a single control.
My conclusion
Oz is not a "killer" of Claude Code or Codex, and does not try to be one. This is an attempt to occupy the most strategic layer in agent-based development. what controls the agents. You can draw an analogy with Kubernetes and other players on the market, and as practice shows, the winner will not be the one with the smartest agent or the best orchestration system, but the one whose control plane will become the standard.
Do you need it right now?
it depends on exactly one question - are you already drowning in parallel agents and losing control over what they are doing?
If so, Oz solves the real pain.
If you're still running one agent under supervision, then this is an infrastructure for growth, and it's too early to pay for it today.
In turn, I look at this the same way I looked at the arrival of service mesh, at first it seems like overengineering, and a year later you don't understand how you lived without it. Only this time it's not services that will have to be orchestrated, but something that makes decisions on its own.
