Petropavlovsk will host the regional qualifying stage of the AITU KazRoboDrone 3.0 international competition

On January 23, at 12:00, 2026, Petropavlovsk will host the regional qualifying stage of the AITU KazRoboDrone 3.0 International Drone Racing and Aircraft Modeling Competition, aimed at identifying the strongest participants for further participation in the final stage of the competition in Astana.

The AITU KazRoboDrone 3.0 International Competition is held on the initiative of Astana IT University and unites schoolchildren, students, teachers and specialists from all regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as foreign participants. The competition is being implemented with the support of the co—organizer and general sponsor, Research & Development Center Kazakhstan Engineering LLP.

The main goal of the competition is to develop and popularize the unmanned aviation industry, aircraft modeling and engineering creativity among young people, as well as to create conditions for professional growth and the formation of human resources in the field of high technology.

Format and directions of the regional stage

The regional qualifying stage in Petropavlovsk is held in an offline format.
Participation is free for the contestants.

The competitions will be held in the following areas:

1. Drone racing on a simulator (mandatory course):

  • Junior — 10-15 years old (schoolchildren)

  • Senior — 16-21 years old (schoolchildren, students)

  • OPEN — adult participants

2. Aircraft modeling (F1N, free-flying glider) (mandatory course):

  • Schoolchildren aged 7-12

3. Drone racing on FPV minis
It is carried out in the presence of appropriate equipment.

The participants who showed the best results at the end of the regional stage will receive the right to represent the North Kazakhstan region at the final stage of the competition in Astana.
