Main requirements
Requirements:
Networks:
- Knowledge of network data transmission protocols, as well as switching/routing protocols.
- Understanding the principles of the local network and network devices.
- Getting to know the network equipment of different vendors and how to work with it.
*nix systems:
- Initial level of knowledge of *nix-based systems (Linux/Unix): basic work in the terminal, understanding of the file system, access rights, basic utilities.
Automation (entry level; preferably possession of at least one tool from each block):
- Data formats and APIs: XML, JSON, YAML, REST API.
- Languages (optional): Python, Bash, Go.
- Automation/infrastructure tools: Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Nornir.
- Version control system: Git.
Cloud technologies (entry level):
- Understanding the principles of building a data center network.
- Basic familiarity with cloud/virtualization technologies: KVM, OpenStack, ESXi.
Languages:
- English is at least Intermediate (sufficient for reading documentation and communicating in a team).
What you will do
Responsibilities:
- Solving automation tasks (scripting, infrastructure and operational processes).
- Interaction with colleagues from other teams in solving complex tasks (engineers, developers, QA, architects).
- Preparation and up-to-date support of working documentation and knowledge base (instructions, diagrams, process descriptions, runbooks)
