Senior Software Engineer / AI Agent Platform

Grik.io Develops Ricochet Code— an open-source AI coding agent for VS Code-compatible editors, terminal, and remote agent sessions via Ether Live Mode.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer / AI Agent Platform who will help develop the Ricochet core: agent runtime, repository management, task timeline, checkpoints, approvals, pending diffs, model routing, MCP tools, Swarm Mode and integration with LLM providers.

We need an engineer who is interested in building not just a “chat with a model”, but a full-fledged platform for AI agents in development.

Basic requirements:

- at least 4 years of commercial development experience;

- strong knowledge of TypeScript/Node.js, Go Lang;

- experience in backend development, API, realtime/WebSocket/SSE or task queues;

- understanding of Git, diff/patch workflows, file operations, and developer tooling;

- experience integrating LLM APIs: OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Gemini or analogues;

- understanding agentic workflows: planning, tool use, context management, retreats, approvals;

- experience with VS Code Extension API or willingness to figure it out quickly;

- the ability to independently make technical decisions and bring tasks to a production-ready state;

- English at the level of reading technical documentation.

That would be a plus:

- experience with Go, Rust;

- experience with MCP, Skills;

- experience with local models: Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM;

- experience in developing CLI/TUI, IDE plugins or developer tools;

- experience with Docker, CI/CD, sandboxing, cloud infrastructure;

- participation in open-source projects.

- Develop core runtime Ricochet Code.

- Work on VS Code-compatible extension and terminal workflows.

- Improve agent loop: planning, execution tool, file reads/writes, repo analysis, checkpoints.

- Develop a reviewable UX: task timeline, pending diffs, approvals, logs, activity trail.

- Integrate LLM providers and model routing: BYOK, OpenRouter, OpenAI, Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini, GLM, Grok, MiniMax, Mistral, Grik-hosted routes.

- Develop Ether Live Mode as a session layer for remote task management.

- Work on Swarm Mode: roles of agents, workers, coordination, recurring checks.

- Integrate MCP tools, skills, terminal commands and Git workflows.

- Design guardrails: budget limits, premium approvals, rate limits, risky action detection.

- Develop backend API, usage tracking, credit accounting, auth and cloud integrations.

- Write tests, documentation, and maintain open-source code quality.

- Work with GitHub issues and technical feedback from early users.
