Lecturer in Programming and Cybersecurity

Main requirements

The IT STEP Computer Academy in Almaty is looking for a teacher in programming and cybersecurity for classes with teenagers and adults. Classes are held full-time, in small groups of up to 15 students.

At least 1 year of IT experience, practical experience in software development or work in the field of information security
Confident knowledge of one or more programming languages: Python, Java, C++, C#, JavaScript
Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, principles of OOP, working with API and client-server architecture
Databases: SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, fundamentals of database design
Fundamentals of Information and network security, OSI model and TCP/IP stack, Windows and Linux security
Fundamentals of Cryptography, Vulnerability analysis, Ethical hacking, OWASP Top 10, Secure Coding, understanding the work of Firewall and VPN
Tools: Git, GitHub/GitLab, VS Code, PyCharm, IntelliJ IDEA, VMware/VirtualBox, Linux (Ubuntu, Kali Linux), Docker — will be an advantage

What you will do

Conducting theoretical and practical classes on programming and cybersecurity
Teaching children, teenagers and adults according to the Academy's educational program
Development and implementation of laboratory work, mini-projects and homework
Review of papers and feedback to students
Preparing students for competitions, Olympiads and project activities
Participation in the development of educational programs
