1. Getting to know the graduate

My name is Galymzhan Kuppaev, I am 36 years old, I live in Almaty, I work as an analyst in the banking sector. I work with large databases. Our bank has implemented the Qlik system and a short training was conducted for employees, this knowledge was not enough to effectively solve work tasks, so I decided to study at the Datanomix Academy under the Tech Orda program to deepen my knowledge and skills of working with Qlik Sense.

2. How was the training?

The first thing I would like to note is the selection system for training. This process made it possible to select interested participants, which is a plus.

The course was characterized by interactivity and gamification. During the training, participants could collect points and exchange them for gifts from the school. Such a system maintained motivation throughout the six months of training.

I especially remember the seminars with expert Yulia Doshlova. Her positive attitude and willingness to answer all questions made classes interesting and useful, even on weekends. During the training, she gave good recommendations for working with Qlik Sense and choosing an approach to work.

In addition, the Telegram training chat, where there were 30 of us, facilitated convenient interaction with classmates and tutors. This greatly facilitated the learning process.

As such, there were no difficulties in learning. At the initial stage, I had to spend a little more time trying to figure out how to install Qlik Sense Desktop and submit homework to the platform.

There were also questions when doing the exam paper. However, I was able to get all the answers in the Telegram tutorial chat.

If we evaluate the level of Qlik Sense proficiency on a 10-point scale, then before training it was low, and after - 9 points.

Before studying at Datanomix, I was able to load storefronts and write SQL queries. After completing the course, I learned how to create full-fledged storefronts, customize them to meet the needs of the end user and collect data for decision-making by management.

Now I check my colleagues' reports for correctness, have finalized more than 10 reports in Qlik and even developed one report, which has become one of the most frequently used among colleagues. This is a significant achievement, as my report proved to be in demand in the work and received positive feedback.

In addition, I have a better understanding of the security system of the applications being created and am able to combine several tables from different repositories to get the desired result. I also learned how to make charts more understandable and informative for customers.

5. Tips for future students

1. Regularly allocate time to study lessons, do not leave everything for the last day.
2. Attend seminars and ask questions to learn a lot of useful things and get positive experiences from your classmates.
3. Don't be afraid and don't hesitate to ask questions. If something is unclear, it is better to ask again and get feedback.
4. Be active in the Telegram tutorial chat. All participants of the program have different experiences, so you can give each other a better understanding and recommendations for future projects.

Learning Qlik Sense is an important investment in your future. This tool is used in large companies in Kazakhstan and has the potential for further dissemination.
