Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Commercial Director/Chief Revenue Officer to lead our go-to-market strategy, with a primary focus on expanding into the MENA region, driving revenue growth, and positioning our company as a leader in next-generation energy technology solutions.
This executive will own the entire commercial lifecycle, from market strategy and business development to sales, partnerships, and customer success, ensuring that our IoT, AI agents, and digital twins for smart grids and energy transition offerings deliver measurable value to clients in the energy and smart grid sectors.
The role blends strategic market entry leadership with hands-on deal execution, requiring deep industry knowledge, high-level relationship building, and a proven track record in complex B2B sales within emerging and regulated markets.
Key Responsibilities:
MENA Market Expansion
Develop and execute a regional go-to-market plan for key MENA geographies, starting with high-priority markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt.
Build relationships with government entities, utilities, energy regulators, EPC contractors, and large industrial players.
Identify and pursue strategic partnerships with local technology providers, distributors, and system integrators.
Navigate procurement processes, regulatory requirements, and market-specific buying cycles.
Commercial Strategy & Leadership
Define and execute our revenue growth strategy across the smart grid and energy sector value chain.
Own the global revenue strategy, with a strong MENA-first growth trajectory.
Lead enterprise account acquisition and expansion, ensuring multi-year, high-value contracts.
Develop pricing models, contract structures, and value propositions optimised for the MENA market.
Sales, Partnerships & Customer Success
Build a high-performing regional sales and account management team.
Ensure post-sale adoption, renewals, and upselling within large accounts.
Act as the senior commercial face of the company in the MENA region.
Revenue Operations & Forecasting
Implement robust sales forecasting, pipeline management.
Track KPIs for revenue growth, deal conversion, and customer retention.
Align with marketing and product teams to ensure market-driven product evolution.
KPIs
MENA revenue growth and market share.
Number and value of strategic contracts closed.
Speed of market penetration and key account acquisition.
Partnership ecosystem established in the region.
Customer retention and satisfaction rates

Candidate Profile:
Experience
7+ years in senior commercial leadership roles, ideally in IoT, industrial automation, AI/ML, energy management, or smart infrastructure.
Proven success in B2B enterprise sales in the MENA region, ideally within the energy and utilities sector.
Track record in building regional market presence from the ground up.
Experience in long sales cycles, public sector procurement, and multi-stakeholder negotiations.
Skills & Competencies
Deep understanding of MENA energy sector dynamics, including national visions (e.g., Saudi Vision 2030, UAE Energy Strategy 2050).
Proven track record in senior commercial leadership roles (Commercial Director, CRO, VP Sales/Strategy, GM) within energy, industrial software, IoT, or AI-driven industries.
Demonstrated success in scaling revenue streams across international markets, preferably with exposure to MENA and/or emerging markets.
Experience transforming organizations from product/transactional sales to outcome-based models.
Strong C-suite network within utilities, ministries, and large industrial firms in MENA.
Exceptional negotiation skills for high-value, multi-year contracts.
Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business outcomes.
Culturally fluent, able to work effectively across diverse business environments.
Languages
English required. Arabic is highly preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
