Social Leadership Training for North Kazakhstan Schoolchildren

On October 1, North Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozybayev hosted the Beginit Central Asia international project selection round by inDrive. This initiative aims to cultivate social leadership skills among young people in Kazakhstan. The program focuses on supporting talented students from regional areas, providing them with quality education and opportunities to develop as leaders.

This year, the program spans ten regions of Kazakhstan, marking the first time the North Kazakhstan region is included. The initiative opens new prospects for tenth-grade students, who will gain leadership competencies and learn how to implement their ideas through social projects. The North Kazakhstan selection round brought together over 100 students, parents, and teachers. Samat Sayakov, the Beginit Central Asia project coordinator, and Nurgul Bulatova, the regional manager of SKO Hub, were also in attendance.

“Our goal is to identify and support teenagers with the potential to drive positive change in their regions. We aim to help young people bring their ideas to life and improve the world around them,” said project coordinator Samat Sayakov.

During the selection round, students completed tasks designed to assess their leadership qualities and learn about the role of a social leader. Participants shared ideas for addressing current issues, discussed potential social projects, and completed tests. The most promising students from this stage will continue in the program.

The selected participants will soon begin an educational module focused on the fundamentals of social leadership and developing regional improvement projects. As part of the program, they’ll also have the chance to visit the innovation hubs of Astana Hub, a key project partner.

“SKO Hub is the center of IT community development in the region. We run various free educational initiatives, organize pitching sessions, workshops, and hackathons, and support startups, connecting IT, business, and government. We're excited to bring the Beginit project to our region, providing an excellent opportunity for our young people to meet like-minded peers and pursue their dreams. Through the Beginit program, we offer a platform for idea exchange and project development, along with mentoring support for all participants,” said Nurgul Bulatova, Regional Manager of Astana Hub for North Kazakhstan.

The Beginit Central Asia by inDrive program is a social and educational initiative offering students a unique chance to join an energetic, innovation-oriented community of young social leaders. Participants will gain skills in using various tools to implement social initiatives. The top finalists of the program will be invited to the Foundation Year at inVision U University, with the possibility of earning educational trips abroad, preparatory courses for the UNT, and laptops.
