In his address, Deputy Minister Dmitry Mun spoke about the development of Kazakhstan’s artificial intelligence ecosystem—from building a national supercomputing infrastructure and introducing AI services in the public sector to supporting startups and training specialists. He emphasized that regional initiatives such as Qostanai Hub are becoming an important part of the country’s overall digital transformation strategy.

“Qostanai Hub has shown strong results: under the Startup Garage program, the region ranked third nationwide in terms of applications submitted, behind only Astana and Almaty,” the Deputy Minister highlighted.
Akim Kumar Aksakalov noted that the region is creating conditions for the use of AI in agriculture, utilities, and livestock farming. In agriculture, concepts such as “smart farming” and the “digital veterinarian” are being introduced, while in utilities, AI-based solutions are being deployed to diagnose heating networks.
Sergiu Smocinschi, head of METOS, shared insights into the use of AI for predicting crop diseases and increasing yields.
Irina Sulimenko, President of the Kazakhstan IT Companies Association, presented the “digital veterinarian” system, which already helps prevent livestock diseases and improve farm productivity.
The forum also highlighted local innovation, including Kazakhstani startup EasyTap, which offers an online platform for finding hourly workers in retail and HoReCa.
As part of the event, Qostanai Hub organized initiatives for young entrepreneurs, including Pizza Pitch—an open stage for presenting ideas and attracting investors.
