AlgoBatyr and Forty Developers: Winners of Kazakhstan’s First Algorithmic Programming Battle Announced

The final round of AlgoBatyr, Kazakhstan’s first competitive programming championship tailored specifically for adult IT professionals, was held at Astana Hub. Out of 280 applications from across the country, top participants were selected to compete in algorithmic problem-solving for the title and a total prize pool of 1,000,000 KZT. The championship was organized with the support of Astana Hub and the Federation of Competitive Programming.

The final took place in an atmosphere of focus and friendly competition. All participants demonstrated a high level of skill and confident command of development tools. In the end, Orazbek Khibadullin (Zapis.kz) was crowned champion, winning 500,000 KZT. Vladimir Lee (Magnum E-comm) took second place and received 300,000 KZT, while Daniyar Dyusmagambetov (AAEngineering) came in third, earning 200,000 KZT.

The event was attended by Magzhan Madiyev, CEO of Astana Hub, and Bagdat Musin, President of the Federation of Competitive Programming.

“AlgoBatyr was launched in response to the growing interest in programming among adults. We believe it’s never too late to start a career in IT — all it takes is the desire to learn and grow. From day one, Astana Hub has supported such initiatives. Our mission is to foster human capital, support talent, and strengthen Kazakhstan’s startup ecosystem. We create the conditions for anyone to develop their potential, gain knowledge, try new roles, and be part of the country’s technological transformation,” said Magzhan Madiyev, CEO of Astana Hub.

AlgoBatyr is one of the first competitions in Kazakhstan designed specifically for the 22+ audience, for whom there are few inclusive and comfortable competition formats. The finalists proved that interest in programming knows no age limits and that such initiatives are well-received and in demand within the professional IT community.

“280 people carved out time to test their skills and nerves — and 40 made it to the final, from budding talent to seasoned digital pros. I figured these competitive coders, whose fingers move faster than the compiler, would put on quite a show — and I wasn’t wrong. These IT gladiators, battling it out in C++, Python, Java, Kotlin, and more, truly earned the applause echoing through Astana Hub today. Every one of them fought valiantly,” shared Bagdat Mussin.
