On September 29 (starting at 15:00), the finals of the national AI project competition AI SANA Generative Nation will be held, where school students, university students, startups, and research teams will present their projects and ideas for the future. The purpose of the competition is to identify and support new talent and build a community of future AI leaders shaping Kazakhstan’s digital future.
In August, Astana Hub announced the start of the national AI project competition, which attracted teams from all regions of Kazakhstan. Hundreds of applications were submitted and evaluated based on criteria such as the use of AI technologies, originality, scalability potential, team competence, clarity and completeness of the presentation, as well as the ethical considerations of each project. As a result, 20 projects made it to the finals, with 5 in each category.
After the winners are selected, the next phase will consist of mentorship sessions, designed to help teams prepare for their presentations on the main stage of Digital Bridge 2025. Mentors will include key leaders of the digital industry: Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiev, CEO of Astana Hub Magzhan Madiev, Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, Chairman of Kazakhtelecom Bagdat Mussin, CEO of Silkroad Innovation Hub Aset Abdullaev, and founder of MA7 Venture Murat Abdrakhmanov.
Winners of the competition will receive valuable prizes: 3 projects in the Best School AI Project category will receive MacBook Air laptops for the team; 2 projects in the Best Student AI Project category will receive 5 million tenge per team; 1 project in the Best Science AI Project category will receive 10 million tenge per team.
On September 30 (starting at 15:00), attention will shift to the Google Firebase Studio Championship for Central Asian Developers, where the best teams in the region will showcase their solutions built on Firebase Studio and the Gemini API. Winners will receive cash prizes, GCP credits, and access to educational resources.
The event will bring together developers, researchers, and students from across the region for the final pitches of the top 10 projects created using Firebase Studio and the Gemini API. The program includes expert talks, presentations, jury evaluations featuring representatives of major tech companies from Central Asia and Google employees, as well as an awards ceremony. Finalists will receive certificates, access to Google’s educational resources, credits, and cash prizes, while top teams will receive GCP vouchers worth up to $1,000.
The main goal of the championship is to support the next generation of developers and expand the use of advanced Google tools in Central Asia. Among the distinguished guests is Peter Norvig, Director of Research at Google. The program will also include pitches of the finalists’ projects and interactive activities, including a raffle for tickets to Digital Bridge 2025.
On October 1 (starting at 11:00), Astana Hub will host the Opening of AI’preneurs, the flagship acceleration program aimed at shaping a new generation of AI startups.
The event will officially launch the third cohort of AI’preneurs, introduce new participants to the goals, curriculum, and structure of the program, and create a space for knowledge exchange. Alumni of previous cohorts will share their success stories, lead trackers Evgeny Frolov and Nikolai Tyan will reveal details of the new training stage, and Doszhan Zhusupov, CEO of Cerebra, will deliver a motivational speech.
On October 2 (starting at 17:00), attention will turn to a special event featuring Solana Foundation President Lily Liu and legendary Arsenal footballer Sol Campbell. Organized by Solana Superteam KZ, this unique gathering will unite global Web3 leaders, the local IT community, and representatives of traditional businesses. The event will provide a platform for sharing expertise, exploring cutting-edge technologies, and discussing Kazakhstan’s role in the global digital ecosystem. Guests will enjoy expert talks, an awards ceremony for graduates of the blockchain development program, presentations of the first Solana-based projects from Kazakhstan, and expanded networking opportunities.
AI Week will conclude on October 4 (starting at 10:00) with a special session organized by TON CIS Hub, the regional team developing the TON ecosystem and supporting startups, developers, and Web3 teams across the CIS.
