Four New Technology Hubs to Open in Kazakhstan by Year-End

As of today, 15 technology hubs have been launched across various regions of the country under the Astana Hub international technology park. By the end of this year, four more are set to open, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov announced at the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Digital Inclusion and Transformation, organized by UNESCAP.

The Prime Minister referenced the President’s State of the Nation Address, in which he announced the establishment of a National Center for Artificial Intelligence in Astana by 2025.

"This center will serve as a key platform for identifying effective solutions. We look forward to fostering cooperation in this area with all countries, including those in the Asia-Pacific region," Bektenov stated.

He also highlighted Kazakhstan’s involvement in the Digital Silk Road initiative, noting that the country is working with its neighbors to lay fiber-optic cables along the bottom of the Caspian Sea, connecting to Persian Gulf nations. This project aims to further expand the transit potential of the West-East corridor. According to Bektenov, the initiative will create a modern infrastructure for data collection, storage, and processing, facilitating the development of new technologies and attracting major Big Tech companies.

"Bringing Kazakhstan's tech solutions to the global market is an urgent priority, and the Astana Hub international technology park plays a crucial role in this effort. To date, 15 tech hubs have been launched across various regions, with four more planned to open by the year’s end," Bektenov said.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that Astana Hub now hosts 1,400 resident companies, including 400 international firms, all of which benefit from a favorable investment environment.
