Astana Hub, together with the Blockchain & AI Technology Center (BAITC) and with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, announces Decentrathon 4.0—the country’s largest offline hackathon, which will take place on September 13–14, 2025, simultaneously across 20 cities.
Applications are open until September 12 at the link provided.
Over two days, Decentrathon 4.0 will bring together more than 2,500 participants—school students, university students, entrepreneurs, and experienced IT specialists. Participants will experience teamwork, mentorship support, and the opportunity to present their projects directly to industry experts.
This year’s hackathon theme is artificial intelligence. Participants will design, develop, and present a complete AI solution. The format is open to everyone: anyone over the age of 18 can join, while high school students may participate as part of a team led by an adult captain.
“Each of our initiatives demonstrates just how rich Kazakhstan is with talent. We see schoolchildren and students who already today can think boldly, propose unconventional solutions, and work with world-class technologies. Our goal is to support these young innovators, give them the confidence to believe in themselves, and show them that their ideas are meaningful and in demand. It is in projects like these that the future of our economy is born, where the younger generation will become the driver of the country’s technological development,” said Magzhan Madiyev, CEO of Astana Hub.
Exclusive partners of the AI track include Bank CenterCredit, BCC-HUB, and inDrive, which will provide participants with real-world challenges in fintech and mobile technologies. The best solutions will have practical value and the chance for further implementation.

“Decentrathon brings together more than 3,000 developers across 20 cities in Kazakhstan every year. Once again, this year we are supported by the country’s largest technology companies. This scale is especially important because every third prize is won by participants from the regions, proving that strong talent exists all across the country, and it is precisely these talents that are shaping Kazakhstan’s digital future,” added Aidana Kaskyrbek, CEO & Founder of BAITC.
Decentrathon 4.0 will be held across offline venues in 20 cities of Kazakhstan—from Almaty and Astana to Kyzylorda, Oskemen, and Zhezkazgan. The organizers are preserving hackathon traditions: branded merchandise, mentorship support, and the classic pizza are all part of the experience.
The total prize fund amounts to 15 million KZT, to be distributed among the winning teams. The winners will be announced at Digital Bridge 2025, the country’s premier technology forum, where they will have the opportunity to showcase their projects to a wide audience, attract investors and partners, and pursue scaling opportunities.
