The story of Axellero began in 2022, when three engineers from Almaty — Ruslan Kurkebayev, Bauyrzhan Aitileu, and Erzhan Beisenbayev — decided to radically change the direction of their careers. Behind them was solid experience in IT outsourcing: the team had delivered more than 100 software solutions, including eGov Mobile, large banking systems, and major B2G projects. Such projects involved teams of 20 to 40 people, and development cycles lasted for months.
“We spent many years building projects using the classical model — requirements, team, backend, frontend, implementation. But over time we realized that 80% of solutions are built from the same elements: forms, authorization, integrations, processes, data management. Each time, we were creating almost everything from scratch,” recalls Erzhan Beisenbayev.
The engineers started thinking: why not create a platform where all standard modules are already prepared and integrated with each other, like a dashboard or a LEGO constructor? So that you could quickly “assemble” the required product and focus not on routine work, but on business logic.
“We wanted automation to be accessible not only to corporations with huge budgets, but to any business. So that digitalization would no longer depend on the number of developers,” says Bauyrzhan Aitileu.
The team began developing the platform in their free time. At some point, it became clear that the potential of the idea required full focus. They sold their stake in the outsourcing company and invested the proceeds along with their personal savings into the startup.
This is how Axellero.io was born — a next-generation low-code platform with an AI assistant that enables companies from various industries to launch digital solutions in just a few days, without the need to assemble an expensive IT team.
On the Axellero.io platform, it is possible to design and launch applications even without a technical background — thanks to ready-made modules, templates, and prompts.
At the core of Axellero are dozens of developments from real projects: standard modules, integrations, and architectural frameworks accumulated over years of outsourcing work.
“If earlier automating a single service took one to two weeks, with Axellero it takes one to two days. And the team needed is two to three times smaller,” notes Ruslan Kurkebayev.
The platform is especially useful for working with complex scenarios:
-
multiple integrations (banks, CRM, eGov, etc.);
-
branched processes with different roles;
-
high load, with millions of users.
Axellero allows complex digital systems to be “assembled” from ready-made blocks, adapted to specific tasks, and easily modified without involving new developers.
The main differentiator of Axellero is its built-in AI assistant, which:
-
suggests application architecture;
-
automatically generates code and APIs;
-
warns about common errors;
-
helps even those who do not know programming.
This is especially important amid a shortage of IT specialists. With Axellero, even non-technical users can build a working business application, making digitalization accessible to small and medium-sized businesses.
“We wanted to create a solution suitable for Kazakhstan, Asian countries, and eventually the whole world. Local integrations, affordable pricing, support for teams without deep IT stacks — all of this makes Axellero a real tool, not just another trendy platform,” shares the project’s technical lead Ruslan.
The platform makes it possible to:
-
reduce costs — no need to assemble a large team;
-
speed up launch — ready-made modules and visual design;
-
maintain flexibility — easily change logic and interfaces during work;
-
support scale — suitable for both large corporations and small startups.
Axellero has already been implemented in several companies and demonstrates that low-code + AI is not just a trend, but a real tool for digital transformation.
“Foreign platforms are too expensive for CIS countries”
The Axellero.io platform did not emerge in a vacuum — the team deeply studied international low-code and BPM solutions. The market already includes giants such as Outsystems, Retool, Mendix, as well as several platforms from Russia and Ukraine. But all of them have one significant drawback: high cost and complexity of localization.
“Foreign platforms are billion-dollar companies and truly powerful. But they are designed for the U.S. or European markets and often turn out to be too expensive for CIS countries. In addition, they lack the integrations needed for our realities,” the founders explain.
There are several low-code solutions in Kazakhstan, but they are focused on small businesses and do not meet the requirements of large corporations. Axellero filled this gap: affordable pricing + support for complex, modular processes with AI components + local integrations.
Axellero generates revenue through two directions:
Licenses and consulting for large businesses.
Each project is customized for the client and can cost from $50,000 to $500,000, especially in cases of complex process automation.
Subscription for small and medium-sized businesses.
The team is currently launching a subscription model that allows the platform to be used without a full purchase: small companies will be able to build solutions independently or with the help of AI agents for a fixed fee.
“We want small and medium-sized businesses to be able to automate processes as well — without hiring expensive specialists and without fear of overpaying. The subscription model solves this,” the team explains.
“We have already closed projects worth over one million dollars”
One of the first major clients was the Kazakhstani company 3MIS, which set an ambitious goal — to create an alternative to existing players in the medical management systems market. The Axellero team developed a solution within a few months that was successfully launched into operation. This became the first serious proof of the platform’s viability in real-world conditions. The team also conducted cost and efficiency measurements in a large-scale live project.
Today, Axellero is already working with clients such as:
-
Halyk Bank
-
ERG
-
Nurbank
-
Bank CenterCredit
Entering the Global Market: U.S. Experience and Acceleration in Silicon Valley
In 2024, the Axellero team completed a major international acceleration program — AlchemistX, one of the most prestigious Silicon Valley accelerators focused on B2B startups. This became possible after selection from 80 Kazakhstani projects: only 10 teams made it into the final cohort, including Axellero.io.
The acceleration took place in California from August to November and included:
-
in-depth analysis of the U.S. B2B market;
-
work with Silicon Valley mentors;
-
participation in industry events;
-
presentations to investors and corporations;
-
interviews with users and potential clients.
“Living in California for three months is a completely different experience compared to just flying in for a conference. We truly felt the market, the culture, the negotiation style, and realized that everything works differently in the U.S.,” shares Erzhan Beisenbayev.
