In just five years, Kazakhstan has gone from being a “country at the starting line” to becoming one of the fastest-growing technology hubs in the world. In 2024, the total value of the local startup ecosystem exceeded $26 billion, having increased 18-fold since 2019. By comparison, the global average growth over the same period was only 2.6 times.
Dry statistics turn into real stories when you see Kazakhstani teams entering global markets, transforming healthcare and education, and creating products that attract competition among international investors.
Startups the World Is Talking About
CerebraAI
When a person suffers a stroke, every minute counts. The Kazakhstani startup CerebraAI taught artificial intelligence to detect signs of stroke from CT scans several times faster than a doctor. The project initially raised $1 million from Timur Turlov, and in 2024 closed a $15 million deal with Notion Capital. Today, its headquarters are in Silicon Valley, but its roots are in Astana.
In spring 2025, CerebraAI entered the list of the most innovative AI companies in North America. A participant of Astana Hub.
Higgsfield
An AI startup with an office in Almaty and a valuation exceeding $100 million. Development takes place in Kazakhstan, while investments come from the United States. The project brings together Uzbek and Kazakh engineers and proves that it is possible to build a global product while remaining in the region.
Codiplay
A Kazakhstani edtech company that has gone beyond national borders—its digital tools are used by schools in the UK, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. The product was valued at $100 million and has also been implemented in schools across Kazakhstan. A participant of Astana Hub.
Amurex.ai
This project was launched by a 19-year-old from Astana. He is now working in San Francisco and is already attracting his first hundreds of users. His product is an AI assistant that learns to understand the user and adapt to their style.
It all started with a laptop and an idea—and today it is a real startup on the international stage.
How Kazakhstani Startups Enter the Global Arena
Kazakhstani projects are actively going through accelerators in Silicon Valley, such as AlchemistX, 500 Global, and others. In 2024–2025, teams including Cybernet.ai, Parqour, Axellero.io, and others were accepted—receiving mentorship, investment, and access to international markets.
At the same time, the Astana Hub platform continues to grow within Kazakhstan itself. The government supports the sector through tax incentives, grants, and the launch of venture funds. One of them is Qazaqstan Venture Group with $1 billion in capital; another is Astana Hub Ventures, focused on rapid growth.
