The tour for the head of state was conducted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhaslan Madiev. He presented the structure of the cluster, its key areas of activity, and its role in the development of the country’s digital economy.
The delegation accompanying the President included representatives of the Estonian government and parliament, heads of leading universities, as well as experts from technology and business organizations.
The guests visited the artificial intelligence school Tomorrow School — the first peer-to-peer AI school in Kazakhstan, created by Astana Hub based on the 01 Edu platform developed by French educator Nicolas Sadirac. Students at the school complete more than 50 practical projects and study over 20 programming languages, including Golang, Rust, JavaScript, and Python. At the final stage of training, they choose a specialization, such as AI engineer, software developer, full-stack developer, mobile application developer, and other fields.
The Estonian delegation was also presented with innovative solutions developed by Astana Hub startup participants:
WeGlobal AI — an AI platform that guides school students and applicants through career guidance and the university admissions process;
TrustExam — an AI-based platform designed to ensure integrity and security during online, hybrid, and in-person examinations;
Qalan — an AI platform for personalized mathematics learning with diagnostic tools and intelligent support;
Daryn.online — an online school preparing students for admission to leading educational institutions and for key exams.
The final stage of the visit was a presentation of Kazakhstan’s IT ecosystem delivered by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiev. He spoke about the country’s digital initiatives, support programs for IT companies, and measures aimed at developing human capital and innovative entrepreneurship.
It should be noted that Astana Hub is the largest innovation cluster in Central Eurasia, focused on building and developing an ecosystem for IT businesses, training IT specialists, and supporting startup projects. Today, more than 1,800 IT companies are registered within the cluster, including over 450 with foreign participation. They receive comprehensive support, including business development and scaling programs, special tax and visa regimes, informational and educational support, and physical infrastructure.
