West Kazakhstan Schoolchildren Develop Social Leadership Skills
Today, October 8, the selection round of the international project Beginit Central Asia by inDrive was held at West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University. The program aims to nurture young social leaders among Kazakhstan’s schoolchildren, supporting talented youth in the regions with access to quality education and leadership development.
This year, the program spans 10 regions of Kazakhstan, creating new opportunities for 10th-grade students to develop leadership skills and turn their ideas into social projects. More than 100 students, along with their parents and teachers, gathered in Uralsk for the selection round. The event was attended by Samat Sayakov, coordinator of Beginit Central Asia by inDrive, and Omar Tashim, regional manager of Jaiq Hub.
“Our goal is to identify and support teenagers with the potential to become positive change-makers in their communities. We aim to help young talents realize their ideas and improve their surroundings,” said Samat Sayakov.
During the selection round, students completed tasks designed to assess their leadership qualities and understand the role of a social leader. Participants shared ideas, discussed social projects, and completed various test tasks. Based on their performance, the top candidates will advance in the program.
In the next stage, participants will enter an educational module, where they’ll learn the fundamentals of social leadership and start developing projects focused on enhancing life in their communities. They’ll also have the chance to visit the innovation centers of Astana Hub, a key project partner.
“Jaiq Hub is the region’s center for IT community development. We run free educational projects, host pitch events, workshops, and hackathons, support startup launches, and foster collaboration between IT, business, and government. We’re excited to see the Beginit project take root here—it’s a fantastic opportunity for our young people to make connections, gain confidence, and pursue their dreams. Through the Beginit program, we offer participants a platform for idea exchange, project creation, and mentorship,” said Omar Tashim.
The Beginit Central Asia by inDrive program provides schoolchildren with a unique opportunity to join an active, innovation-focused community of young social leaders and learn practical tools for implementing social initiatives. Finalists will receive invitations to the Foundation Year at inVision U University, educational trips abroad, UNT preparation courses, and laptops.
