Aktau Hosts Qualifying Round of International Project on Social Leadership Development

On October 17, the qualifying round of the international project Beginit Central Asia by inDrive for schoolchildren took place at Yessenov University in Aktau.

The event brought together around 200 students from the Mangystau region, along with their parents, teachers, the regional manager of Mangystau Hub, Aigerim Mazhtai, and Samat Sayakov, the coordinator of Beginit Central Asia by inDrive.

During the qualifying round, students from across the region completed tasks designed to assess their leadership qualities, learned about the role of a social leader, and explored the importance of developing these skills. Participants actively discussed ideas for social projects, shared their views on addressing current issues, and completed test questions. Based on the results, top-performing students will advance to the next stage.

“Beginit provides quality education with a focus on supporting talented children from across Kazakhstan’s regions. This season, the social education program covers 10 regions of the country, opening up new horizons for developing the leadership skills of 10th-grade students and helping them turn their ideas into real projects. The project is implemented by inDrive in collaboration with the Astana Hub International Technopark and the iQanat Foundation. Last season, 37 students reached the finals from over 800 applications, with seven winners awarded study-abroad certificates, UNT preparatory course scholarships, and laptops. Additionally, 18 participants were invited to the Foundation Year program at inVision U University,” shared Samat Sayakov, coordinator of Beginit Central Asia by inDrive.

After successfully passing the selection, students will begin an educational module where they will study the fundamentals of social leadership and the importance of active engagement in public life. During this training, they will develop and present projects aimed at improving living conditions in their communities. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit innovation centers within Astana Hub’s regional offices, a key project partner.

“The Beginit Central Asia by inDrive educational program allows students to join a community of young social leaders and develop the skills needed to implement their personal initiatives. Top finalists in the program will be invited to the Foundation Year program at inVision U University, with opportunities to win grants for studying abroad, UNT preparatory course certificates, and laptops,” said Aigerim Mazhtai, regional manager of Mangystau Hub.

This project underscores the importance of education and social responsibility, empowering students to transform their ideas into tangible initiatives that can positively impact their communities and society as a whole.
