As part of the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, GITEX AI Kazakhstan will be held on May 4–5, 2026, at the Atakent International Exhibition Centre. The event will bring together policymakers, technology companies, startups, and investors from more than 60 countries. Its mission is to accelerate Central Asia and the Caucasus toward becoming global technology hubs.
The event is supported by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Organizers include the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, Astana Hub, and the Almaty city administration.
Bakhtiyar Mukhametkaliyev, Vice Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan, stated:
“Kazakhstan is advancing toward becoming a regional AI hub through three key levers: local computing capacity via GPU superclusters—one of which is operated by the Ministry and ranks among the global top 86; institutional development, including the adoption of an AI law and a three-year digital strategy for Astana; and a talent pipeline supported by initiatives such as TUMO Astana, which provides free, practice-oriented education for young professionals. The transformation of the EXPO complex into an international AI center demonstrates the accumulation of domestic capabilities and their rapid conversion into practical outcomes across government, society, and the economy. Our goal is to translate these advantages into measurable results.”
Olzhas Smagulov, Deputy Akim of Almaty, emphasized:
“Almaty is the leading IT hub of Kazakhstan, home to nearly one-third of all IT companies in the country, which account for 52% of total IT services output. The city continues to strengthen its position as a magnet for startups, investment, and innovation. GITEX AI Kazakhstan reinforces Almaty’s role as a natural center for ideas, capital, and partnerships shaping our digital future.”
Daniya Akhmetova, Director of Digital Bridge, noted:
“Hosting GITEX AI Kazakhstan 2026 as a global technology platform, with Astana Hub as a co-organizer, creates a comprehensive set of opportunities for Kazakhstan’s tech ecosystem—from direct access to international markets, investments, and global partnerships to the transfer of advanced technologies and expertise. This will accelerate project growth, enable the scaling of national solutions, and ensure sustainable industry development, strengthening Kazakhstan’s global competitiveness.”
The exhibition is organized by inD, the global operator of GITEX, bringing one of the world’s largest technology platforms to the heart of Eurasia. This comes amid rapid growth: over the past seven years, Kazakhstan’s technology ecosystem has expanded 18-fold to reach $26 billion, according to Dealroom.co.
GITEX AI Kazakhstan is expected to host more than 300 companies and startups, 150 speakers, and 100 investors. The event will serve as a key platform for international collaboration, global market access, and discussions on critical topics ranging from sovereign AI to investment and human capital development.
