Central Asia’s First TUMO Center for Creative Technologies to Open in Astana
A landmark agreement in the fields of education and technology has been signed between TUMO and Astana Hub, paving the way for Central Asia’s first world-class learning center in Astana, designed for teenagers and young adults eager to master the skills of the future across technology and the creative industries.

TUMO Astana will be entirely free of charge and open to all teenagers eager to advance in digital and creative technologies powered by artificial intelligence. The curriculum spans 11 core disciplines: generative AI, game development, animation, filmmaking, 3D modeling, robotics, graphic and motion design, programming, music composition, and web development.
“TUMO is an innovative extracurricular education model created in Armenia that has become the global benchmark for preparing teenagers for a digital future. Launching the center in Astana is a pivotal step in integrating Kazakhstan into the global educational community and enhancing digital literacy among our youth. The TUMO Astana educational program is designed for students aged 12 to 18 who join the project, and it will be completely free of charge, providing broad access to modern digital and creative skills for all interested schoolchildren,” said Magzhan Madiyev, CEO of Astana Hub.
Learning at TUMO is driven by the TUMO Path platform, which allows each student to design and continually refine a personalized learning journey aligned with individual interests and goals. Knowledge is reinforced through hands-on workshops led by industry professionals, where students tackle real-world challenges and build a portfolio that showcases tangible achievements.
“We're thrilled to bring TUMO's innovative educational model to Kazakhstan, marking our first center in Central Asia. This partnership with Astana Hub represents a significant milestone in our global mission to empower teenagers with the digital and creative skills needed for tomorrow's world. TUMO Astana will give local youth access to the same world-class curriculum that has transformed the lives of over 80,000 students across the globe. Kazakhstan's forward-thinking approach to digital education aligns with TUMO's vision, and we look forward to becoming an integral part of the country's innovative educational ecosystem,” said Bekor Papazian, Chief Development Officer at TUMO.
Since its founding in Yerevan in 2011, TUMO has established itself as a unique educational model for teenagers and has expanded rapidly around the globe. Today, TUMO’s network includes 18 centers in 7 countries, with more than 80,000 alumni. Centers operate in France (Paris, Lyon, Marseille), Germany (Berlin, Mannheim, Hirschhaid), Portugal (Lisbon, Coimbra), Albania (Tirana), Ukraine (Lviv), and, of course, Armenia, where six permanent centers and over 35 mobile TUMO Boxes serve students nationwide.
For the first time in Central Asia, TUMO is coming to Kazakhstan. The new center will be located inside the alem.ai International Center for Artificial Intelligence in Astana and is scheduled to open in October 2025.
The project forms part of the Government of Kazakhstan’s strategic initiative to train 1 million citizens in digital skills within five years. It complements other flagship AI Movement programs, including Tomorrow School, People Bootcamp, AI’preneurs, QazCoders, and other nationwide AI initiatives.
