The Most Powerful Supercomputer in Central Asia Arrives in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has received the region’s first-ever supercomputing cluster, with a processing capacity of approximately 2 exaflops — making it the most powerful supercomputer in Central Asia. The system is built on the latest NVIDIA H200 graphics chips, designed specifically for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing tasks.

The supercomputer will be installed and launched at the Ministry of Digital Development's new Tier III data center, ensuring uninterrupted and stable operation. Its deployment is a key milestone in the implementation of the President’s Address regarding the development of national digital infrastructure and an AI ecosystem. This initiative is aimed not only at specialists, but at expanding the country’s entire digital ecosystem. Such computing power is already being used across sectors — including healthcare, energy, education, and public services.
Importantly, access to the supercomputer’s resources will be open to all. Startups will be able to use its capabilities for training neural networks; universities — for conducting fundamental and applied research; and scientific centers and companies — for integrating AI into business processes.
This delivery marks the beginning of Kazakhstan’s high-performance computing ecosystem. Notably, it also establishes a new precedent: for the first time, Kazakhstan successfully implemented a duty-free and VAT-free import mechanism for high-tech equipment, making the country far more attractive to international tech firms and data center operators.
The launch coincides with the official visit of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. During the visit, Presight (G42) inaugurated its regional office in Astana. A key outcome of the visit was the signing of an agreement between Presight and the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan to establish the national supercomputing cluster.
“This is a strategically important step in building the country’s digital infrastructure. It will strengthen Kazakhstan’s digital sovereignty and its leadership in AI technology and the attraction of global tech players,” said Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This project is a key pillar in the implementation of Kazakhstan’s National AI Development Concept until 2029 and marks a major step in creating modern IT infrastructure across the country.
