Details about the course and participation requirements are available on the Astana Hub platform.
The “Fundamentals of Prompt Engineering” course lasts 15 academic hours and includes six modules. Training is delivered online with 24/7 access to materials, allowing participants to study at their own pace and combine learning with professional commitments.
Course program:
• Introduction to the profession: who a prompt engineer is, their tasks, and their role in the era of AI.
• Understanding the basics: how large language models (LLMs) work, what they are trained on, and how they are used in business.
• Core prompting skills: creating system prompts and establishing effective interaction with AI.
• Advanced techniques: strategies and patterns for working with neural networks, plus ready-made prompt libraries.
• Building an assistant: developing a custom AI assistant with a knowledge base and integration into a Telegram bot.
• Modification and projects: expanding the assistant’s functionality, integrating with Google Calendar, and presenting projects on GitHub.
“Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the job market and shaping new professions. Companies around the world are looking for specialists who understand how to ‘communicate’ with neural networks and turn them into practical tools. This is a new role that blends strategy, communication, and technology. In the coming years, demand for prompt engineers will only increase, and we want Kazakhstani professionals to be ready for this,” noted Alyona Slavkina, Director of Educational Programs Office at Astana Hub.
The course was developed in partnership with Lerna and is intended for anyone who wants to acquire new AI-related skills and apply them in real-world scenarios.
This is not the first joint educational initiative with Lerna. In September of last year, the free course “AI Fundamentals: ChatGPT” was launched, sparking major interest among Kazakhstanis in learning about artificial intelligence technologies. To date, more than 220,000 participants have registered for the course, with over 120,000 successfully completing it and receiving certificates.
The training is part of the large-scale AI Movement initiative aimed at fostering the development of artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan. In his Address to the Nation, the Head of State emphasized: “Kazakhstan must become a country where artificial intelligence is widely used and digital technologies continue to advance.”
