EA Charity launches Tamyr Platform accelerator for social startups in Central Asia with grants of 130 million tenge

The EA Charity Foundation announces the launch of the Tamyr Platform accelerator, which is fully focused on social startups from Central Asia. The project offers full support, including face-to-face training, mentoring and grants of up to 10 million tenge. Applications will be accepted in July 2025.

Tamyr Platform is a non–profit acceleration program from EA Charity, the corporate charitable foundation of EA Group Holding. The project is aimed at supporting entrepreneurs focused on sustainable changes in society. Applications are accepted from startups implementing initiatives in various fields such as education, culture, medicine and more. Participation in the program is free of charge.

The first stream of the Tamyr Platform is designed for 20-25 projects. The selection process will take place in three stages: an online application, an interview, and a face-to-face defense before an Expert Council. Applications will be accepted in July and will last until September 2025. The key criteria will be the presence of a social impact, the team's willingness to implement and report, as well as the potential for scaling.

The selected social entrepreneurs will take part in a one-week full-time acceleration residency in Almaty. As part of the program, participants will have access to educational modules on legal aspects, fundraising, marketing, team building and financial planning, and more. The mentoring support will be provided by representatives of EA Group, foundation partners and invited experts from the NGO field. A post-program phase is also provided: projects that have completed acceleration will retain access to the mentoring network.

The best projects that have completed training and project protection will receive grants from 5 to 10 million tenge.  Project financing will be provided in stages, with mandatory interim and final reporting.

“Tamyr Platform is not just a grant competition. Our goal is to create an infrastructure for the growth of social leaders in the region. It is important for us not only to help at the start, but also to build sustainable cooperation with those who can really change the region for the better,” says Aidar Buribayev, director of EA Charity.

Tamyr means "root" or "foundation" in Turkic, and in the cultural tradition of Central Asia it is also a form of trusting partnership. The organizers emphasize that the goal of the program is not only one–time project support, but also building long-term relationships with teams focused on systemic change.

The accelerator has become a logical continuation of EA Charity's strategic focus on human capital development in Central Asia. According to the fund's representatives, a stable layer of active teams and civic initiatives has already formed in the region, which lack access to systemic support, growth infrastructure and an expert environment.
