Mobile game developer G5 Games held a game meeting in Almaty

On August 12, Almaty hosted a game dev-meetup from G5 Games, a Swedish developer and publisher of mobile games, which opened an office in Kazakhstan a year ago. This is a specialized event for everyone interested in the gaming industry, where you can discuss the latest trends of game development and exchange experiences with colleagues.

G5 Games regularly holds meetings for gaming industry specialists in different countries – Armenia, Georgia, and now in Kazakhstan.

"The game development industry in Kazakhstan is now actively developing and we are glad that we have the opportunity to hold such meetings for everyone interested in game development. It is very important to communicate with colleagues and like–minded people, discuss professional topics – all this helps to grow and develop, as well as move our industry forward," said G5 PR Manager Anna Dmitrieva.

More than 80 people gathered at the meetup – programmers, game designers, artists and indie developers. In an informal atmosphere, the guests were able to chat and get to know each other, as well as learn more about career opportunities in G5 and take part in a prize draw.

"I am very glad that such events are held in Almaty and that I am here today. Interesting reports, good organization, everything is on top. It was nice to feel among people who share your interests," Anel Amirkulova, 2D Artist.

At the beginning of the event, HR People Partner Tatiana Danko told the guests about the company and what G5 offers its employees. One of the most important benefits today is the relocation program to the countries where the company's offices are located, accessible to all employees. As well as classic bonuses – sports, learning English, medical insurance and others.

Within the framework of the event, G5 specialists shared their experience and made presentations.

2D Character Artist Ainur Salimova, who works on the Jewels of Egypt project, talked about what concept art is, what emotions it should evoke in the viewer and what stages the artist goes through when creating a character.

"I was glad to take part and make a presentation, I received a lot of interesting questions from the participants, the audience was very nice and diverse. Thanks to all the guests and colleagues who participated in the preparation," Ainur said.

The report of Creative Game Designer Evgenia Polyanina was devoted to a topic that interests many developers – the monetization of games. She talked about what are the ways to monetize games, why f2p games earn so much, and also dispelled the main myths of monetization and invited participants to solve a real case.

"I liked everything – the audience was interested, participated in cases, asked questions, and during the break and after everyone talked to each other for a very long time," the speaker shares his impressions.

The participants who create their own games had a unique opportunity to meet with Business Development Manager Elena Popova – to show their project and discuss a possible partnership. Read more about the G5 Games publishing program at the link
