BI / Data Analyst (Reporting, Power BI, SQL)

Responsibilities

• Collect and clarify requirements for reports from business units (sales, risk, recovery, finance, marketing, etc.).

• Generate regular reports (daily/weekly/monthly) on key indicators:

  • disbursements, repayments, portfolio;

  • delinquency and portfolio quality;

  • recovery efficiency;

  • revenue, margin, and profit.

• Prepare ad-hoc reports and samples based on business and management requests.

• Working with databases:

  • write and refine SQL queries;

  • check the correctness of the data and the logic of calculations;

  • find and eliminate inconsistencies in the data.

• Develop and maintain dashboards in Power BI:

  • simulate data and configure connections;

  • write measures and calculation columns on DAX;

  • create visualizations that are understandable to the business.

• Use Excel and, if necessary, Jupyter Notebook for in-depth analysis:

  • summary tables, complex formulas, and Power Query;

  • sample analysis, hypothesis testing, and preparation of convenient slices.

• Automate reporting:

  • optimize queries and report structure;

  • reduce the proportion of manual work.

• Document reports, data sources, and calculation logic.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a data analyst/ BI analyst/ reporting analyst.

• Strong command of SQL:

  • JOIN, groupings, and subqueries;

  • basic understanding of query performance.

• Experience working with SQL clients (for example, DBeaver, etc.).

• Confident mastery of Excel:

  • summary tables;

  • working with large amounts of data.

• Practical experience in building reports and dashboards in Power BI.

• Attention to detail and accuracy when working with numbers.

• The ability to communicate with businesses in simple language and translate queries into understandable requirements for data and reports.

• Willingness to quickly immerse yourself in the specifics of microfinance business.

It will be an advantage

• Work experience in an MFO, bank, or fintech company.

• Understanding credit products, the customer's lifecycle, and delinquency rates.

• Power BI: data modeling, DAX, visualization.

• Excel: complex formulas, Power Query, working with large arrays.

• Basic data analysis skills in Jupyter Notebook / Python.

• Understanding financial and product metrics (preferably in a fintech/MFI/bank).

• Experience in communicating with business customers and the ability to clarify requirements.

• Accuracy and responsibility for the quality and deadlines of reports.
