UX/UI Designer (Middle/Middle+)
OnVibe is a user-provided leisure service that searches for events and activities, buys tickets, and plans free time. We are developing the product with regular releases and are looking for a middle/middle+ level UX/UI designer who can systematically improve the user experience and interface quality in the web version and mobile application.
Tasks
- Design custom scenarios for key streams (search, event card, ticket purchase, profile, notifications, etc.).
- Create and develop UI for web and mobile: screens, components, states, adaptability.
- Conduct UX-study: CJM/flow, information architecture, prototypes (low/high fidelity), interactions.
- Prepare the design for development: specifications, states, behaviors, materials for handoff, implementation support.
- Work with the product team (PM/Dev/QA/Marketing): clarify requirements, participate in planning, defend solutions.
- Improve and maintain the design system: components, tokens/styles, usage rules.
- Participate in research: formulate hypotheses, help with the preparation and conduct of UX tests, analyze feedback and metrics (together with PM/analytics).
- To control the quality of implementation: a review of the interfaces for staging /production, spot edits based on the results.
Requirements
- Product UX/UI design experience of 2-4 years (middle/middle+), preferably in consumer products.
- Strong UX skills: scenarios, flow, prioritization, working with constraints, the ability to justify decisions.
- Confident UI: typography, composition, grids, visual hierarchy, attention to detail, handling states/errors/blank screens.
- Experience designing for mobile (iOS/Android) and web (adaptive, different breakpoints).
- Ability to work in Figma: components, variability, auto-layout, libraries, prototyping.
- Understanding the development process: handoff, interaction with developers, quality control of implementation.
- The skill of structural communication: transparency of statuses, working with feedback, the ability to negotiate in a team.
What is important for us in the approach
- Result orientation: design solves the problem of the user and the business, and not “just beautifully".
- Proactive: you see the problem areas in the product, suggest improvements, and know how to bring them to release.
- Consistency: you can keep consistency without inflating the interface or producing “unique” components unnecessarily.
It will be an advantage
- Domain experience: ticketing, marketplaces, aggregators, consumer apps, e-commerce/payments.
- Research practice: interviews, usability tests, surveys, feedback analysis.
- Experience in the A/B approach, working with metrics (conversion, funnels, retention) in conjunction with PM/analytics.
- Knowledge of accessibility principles and the ability to apply them in interfaces.
- Experience in developing a design system and interacting with multiple products/platforms.
Conditions
- Format: office, Almaty.
- Full-time employment, schedule 5/2.
- Registration under the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- Compensation is discussed individually.
- 24 days of vacation + 3 additional days off per year.
- Modern equipment and working tools.
The selection process
- Screening/calling.
- Case interviews + portfolio analysis (UX logic, UI quality, working with constraints and implementation).
- A test task, if necessary (short and relevant), or a live analysis of the task.
- The final meeting and the offer.
What to attach to the response
- A link to the portfolio (2-3 projects with a description of the role and result are important).
- In short: what did you work on, what was your area of responsibility, what decisions, and why.
