QA engineer

Requirements

• 0.5–2 years of experience in QA (manual and automation testing).
• Understanding of the QA process: test design, testing types, bug reporting, severity/priority, regression and smoke testing.
• Ability to read and write tests in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Basic experience with Playwright (or Cypress/another similar framework, with willingness to switch to Playwright).
• Understanding of the Page Object Model (POM) pattern and why locators should not be hardcoded directly into test cases.
• Basic SQL skills (SELECT queries with JOINs to verify data in MySQL).
• Experience using DevTools and the Network tab to validate API responses.
• Confident Git/GitHub usage: branches, Pull Requests, and GitHub Actions (running workflows and reading logs).
• API testing experience using Postman or another HTTP client, with a basic understanding of REST APIs.
• English sufficient to read technical documentation.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Quasar, Vue, or other SPA frameworks, including understanding UI rendering issues and race conditions.
• Basic Docker knowledge (the project runs in containers).
• Experience testing AI/LLM-powered features, including approaches for validating non-deterministic outputs.
• Understanding of testability attributes, including the purpose of data-testid and willingness to collaborate with frontend developers to add them when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual functional testing based on acceptance criteria, including UI/UX, multilingual support (EN/RU/KZ), cross-browser compatibility, and responsive/mobile layouts.
• Create detailed bug reports in GitHub Issues, including reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, environment information, screenshots/videos, and priority (P1–P4).
• Develop and maintain Playwright end-to-end tests following the project's Page Object Model architecture.
• Validate features in development and staging environments before merging into the development branch and perform regression testing for key user flows (login, content generation, library, AI Assistant).
• Participate in QA reviews by creating and reviewing test cases and checklists, and execute E2E test suites in CI using GitHub Actions (dev/staging/production).
