Al-Farabi ScaleUp: Applications Open for New Acceleration Program

The Al-Farabi Innovation Hub is launching the first batch of its Al-Farabi ScaleUp program, a new accelerator for startups from Central Asia in partnership with Astana Hub and Plug and Play Saudi. The program, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is designed to support startups ready to scale in the MENA region. Applications are open until October 25, 2024.

This program targets tech startups at the Product-Market Fit (PMF) stage and established tech companies from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan. Following the selection process, 15 top startups will have the opportunity to enter the Saudi Arabian market, connecting with leading corporations and venture funds in the region.

With extensive experience in guiding innovative projects within the MENA region, Plug and Play will provide mentoring and pathways to international markets. The program offers six weeks of online training followed by eight weeks of in-person support in Saudi Arabia, helping participants adapt their products to the regional market. Startups will also have the chance to attract investment from leading funds and investors, along with complimentary two-month accommodations in Riyadh. The most promising projects will have the opportunity to secure funding from the Tumar Venture Fund.

Launched in March this year, the Al-Farabi Innovation Hub—a joint venture by the MDDIAI and Tumar Venture Fund—seeks to attract and support talented entrepreneurs and startups from Kazakhstan in Saudi Arabia. The hub offers initial investments, acceleration programs, industry expertise, and networking opportunities to foster growth in the region.
