Astana Hub and SparkLabs Korea, one of South Korea’s leading startup accelerators and venture capital investors, have signed a memorandum of cooperation. The agreement aims to strengthen ties between the technology ecosystems of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea, support promising startups, and expand their opportunities to enter international markets.
The memorandum provides for the exchange of experience and expertise in startup development, acceleration, and venture financing. The parties also intend to explore opportunities to launch joint initiatives and acceleration programs, organize events, engage with investors, and support technology companies entering the markets of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, and other countries.
Founded in Seoul in 2012, SparkLabs Korea specializes in supporting early-stage technology startups. The company runs acceleration programs, provides seed funding and mentorship from entrepreneurs and investors, and helps startups achieve product-market fit, secure follow-on funding, and scale beyond their home markets.
Over more than a decade, SparkLabs Korea has supported more than 270 startups. The accelerator works with projects across artificial intelligence, SaaS, fintech, healthcare, deep tech, gaming, hardware, and other technology sectors.
The partnership will strengthen the ties between Kazakhstan’s startup ecosystem and the technology and investment community of the Republic of Korea, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and create additional opportunities for promising projects to grow and scale internationally.
