Astana Hub, in partnership with the Akimat of Astana and Astana Innovations, announces the launch of the Astana Innovations Accelerator program. The initiative will bring together startups to develop and implement cutting-edge technologies aimed at improving the quality of life for residents. Participants will work on solutions to the city’s most pressing challenges and test them under real-life conditions.
Applications are open until September 15, 2025 on the platform astanahub.com.
Startups with ready-made solutions and teams willing to create products from scratch based on the technical requirements of the Astana Akimat are invited to apply. In the latter case, participants will be able to implement their developments in the capital under exclusive conditions with the prospect of scaling to other cities and countries. A total of 15 projects will be selected (including 10 startups with ready solutions and 5 teams developing products from scratch) to go through the stages of piloting and adapting their technologies to the current needs of the metropolis. This approach gives teams direct access to the city’s key challenges and enables them to rapidly refine their products based on user needs. The best startups that advance to the piloting stage will receive funding starting from 5,000,000 KZT and sign a SAFE agreement.
Startups from different countries are eligible to participate, provided they have a registered legal entity in Kazakhstan and generate income exclusively from priority activities. This creates opportunities for international collaboration while maintaining a strong focus on the development of the national innovation ecosystem.
“Astana Innovations Accelerator will serve as a bridge between the city and technology teams. It is important for us that the solutions created find real-world application and set new standards for quality of life in the capital. This program paves the way for projects capable of shaping the future pace of urban development,” noted Gizat Amirgalі, Chairman of the Board at Astana Innovations.
“The program is designed so that startups solve the city’s specific tasks. Participants will test their technologies at city facilities, establish collaboration with relevant departments, and gain access to experts. This is a chance to make solutions part of the urban system—from safety and process optimization to improving public services. I am confident the program will give momentum to projects that define a new level of the capital’s development,” said Yerbol Akhmetov, Director of Business Programs Office at Astana Hub.
The program focuses on implementing practical technological solutions in key areas such as healthcare, education, security, urban improvement, infrastructure, transport, economy, business, and ecology. Teams will be able to test their solutions on city sites, receive individual guidance from trackers, participate in workshops, and get consultations from industry experts.
Astana Innovations Accelerator 2025 will run for two months and conclude with a Demo Day, where participants will showcase their piloting results to representatives of government, business, and investors. The best projects will receive support for large-scale implementation and expansion to new markets.
