Bagdat Mussin presented the president with an exhibition hall of IT projects

As part of the International Technology Forum Digital Bridge-2023, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov and Minister of Digitalization Bagdat Mussin visited the exhibition areas of robotics, Social Tech, Creative Economy, AI, FinTech, Industry 4.0, GovTech, Creative Economy, Kaspi .kz and ARDF, Astana Hub, etc.


The robotics zone presents projects from Ustem Robotics, Alem School, MakerSpace, members of the Kazakhstan robotics team, and champions of multiple robotics competitions.

During a tour of the exhibition hall, representatives of the IT community showed their developments and told the president about how the Ministry of Digital Development and the Astana hub support young startupers. Last year's Digital Bridge has already become a stepping stone for the development of startups such as UVU, BEEP and others into large projects. Thus, the IT startup UvU Shuttle helps residents get to school or work easily and safely, relieving traffic jams and supplementing the public transport system with IT technologies. The project includes artificial intelligence for dispatching and smart pricing. Two years after winning Battle, Madiyar's team has raised over $1.3 million in private investment and now has over 10,000 frequent flyers and is already piloting the solution in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. And last year, BEEP, while participating in the Digital Bridge, received investments from Kazakh investors (My Ventures, Shanyraq Ventures) and also partnered with the venture builder WeInvest Global from New York.

Projects in the field of digitalization of healthcare were presented to the head of state. For example, the “Internet portal and mobile application Online Damu” projects of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund “DAMU” JSC allow private entrepreneurs to use the Fund’s services online. You can also note the projects “Confirmation of services at a doctor’s appointment using QR” (eDensaulyk on eGov mobile) Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the visit, the President was told about the Astana Hub projects, the implementation of the Google for Startups program, Draper University, Tech Orda, Silkroad innovation hub, and regional IT Hubs. JSC “National Information Technologies” presented the project “AiGov”, a chat bot for consultations and provision of public services based on AI.

Then Kassym-Jomart Tokayev got acquainted with the digital solutions of NC QazaqGaz JSC, the KMG project - “Trip Management” to ensure transport security and transparent monitoring of the operation of transport and special equipment.

The President emphasized that digitalization in the country is aimed not only at improving one industry or area of ​​activity, but also at serious transformations in the economy and public life.

“In recent years, as a result of the proactive government policy, there has been a sharp increase in interest in the IT sector and good dynamics in the development of human capital. For example, the number of IT students in higher education institutions is increasing: in 2022-2023. 53,061 citizens graduated with an IT degree, an increase of 27.6% compared to last year. As part of the TechOrda program, we considered the possibility of training in leading private IT schools using a voucher system for Kazakhstanis who want to master the IT profession. As part of this project, citizens are given the key to changing their destiny, as well as changing their professional direction. Currently, under the program, 2,000 people have mastered the IT profession and received employment opportunities with a salary of 450 thousand tenge. 83 IT schools have been created, 3,273 IT vouchers have been issued,” the minister said.

Bring to mind that on October 12-13, the capital of Kazakhstan hosted Digital Bridge 2023, the largest IT forum in Central Asia. The main topic of the forum is a discussion of the role of artificial intelligence in the modern world - Artificial and Human Intelligence: The Right Balance.
