DECENTRATHON 3.0 Unites 2,670 Participants from 19 Countries
One of the largest online hackathons came to a successful close as 1,349 teams competed for a prize pool of 16 million KZT.

The international Decentrathon 3.0 hackathon has concluded, marking a significant milestone in the global tech calendar. Over the course of three intense days, the event brought together 2,670 participants from 19 countries, forming more than 1,300 teams to develop innovative solutions in artificial intelligence and game design.
The geographic reach of the hackathon exceeded organizers’ expectations. Teams joined from Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Spain, Georgia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Austria, Armenia, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, South Korea, Romania, and Vietnam — highlighting Decentrathon’s position as one of the region’s most prominent tech events.
Hosted entirely online via the Decentra platform, the hackathon allowed participants to collaborate on their projects from anywhere in the world. Organizers provided technical support to teams throughout the three-day event.
“Decentrathon is about people — people who want to be part of something bigger, to build and grow together. It’s not just a hackathon — it’s a community where anyone can join in, contribute their ideas, and feel connected with others,” said Aidana Kaskyrbek, Head of the Blockchain and AI Technology Center.
The AI track, supported by Kazakhtelecom, activ 5G, and Mastercard, garnered particular interest through its special subcategory "AI in Creativity". This direction, which required no programming skills, opened the door for creatives around the world to develop unique projects using modern AI tools.
The GameJam track, developed in partnership with Grand Mobile, showcased high participant engagement in building game prototypes and designing innovative game mechanics.
The success of Decentrathon 3.0 confirmed the effectiveness of the organizers’ vision to create an inclusive, tech-forward platform. The event — organized by Astana Hub and the Blockchain and AI Technology Center, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan — became a strong example of how modern technology can unite people across borders.
The 16,000,000 KZT prize pool will be distributed among winners across several categories. Personalized participation certificates will be issued within a month, and all participants have already received official Decentrathon merchandise kits.
The international success of Decentrathon 3.0 lays a solid foundation for the project’s future. Organizers are already planning the next edition, incorporating lessons from international engagement and the evolving needs of the global tech community.
