Digital Almaty 2025 to Bring Together Over 40,000 Participants from Around the World
Today, the Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan hosted a press conference on the upcoming Digital Almaty 2025. As noted by Gizzat Baitursynov, Chairman of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Development, only a week remains until the start of the VII International Digital Almaty 2025 Forum—the largest digital event of the year.
Digital Almaty 2025 will focus on breakthrough transformations in industry and the impact of AI on the future of the global economy. AI technologies are becoming key drivers of efficiency, security, and sustainability in industrial processes. The two-day digital event is expected to attract over 40,000 attendees.
“This forum is an excellent platform for attracting BigTech companies to the International AI Center. It is held annually, and this will be the seventh Digital Almaty. It is important to highlight that Digital Almaty 2025 is funded through private investments,” said Gizzat Baitursynov.
For the first time, those unable to attend Digital Almaty in person will have access to a unique virtual exhibition. The link to the exhibition will be available on the official forum website almatydigital.kz.
The VII Digital Almaty will feature an extensive business program covering AI integration into industrial ecosystems, the economy and finance, ESG, healthcare, education, and cybersecurity.
Astana Hub Managing Director Daniya Akhmetova shared details of the forum’s program.
The forum will host a plenary session with the prime ministers of EAEU countries. This year, the forum will gather the heads of government from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Iran, and leaders of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The Digital Awards 2025 ceremony will follow.
“At the forum, the results of Astana Hub’s AI Movement initiative will be presented, along with the national stage of the FIRST Tech Challenge, where 24 top school teams will compete for the Digital Ministry Cup. One of the key events will be the Industry AI Battle, a competition for AI and digital transformation startups. Participants will compete for a $60,000 prize fund and grants from the forum’s partners,” said Daniya Akhmetova.
The Startup Alley will showcase 80 international innovation projects, offering thousands of guests, including investors, a chance to discover new ideas. The Industry X zone will highlight successful projects implemented by Kazakhstani technology companies at major industrial enterprises. Additionally, domestic resource extraction companies and technology parks from the U.S., Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, and Iran will share insights on AI applications in industrial processes during panel discussions.
This year, the forum will bring together global experts, including Richard Stirling, CEO of Oxford Insights, Andrew Ng, founder of DeepLearning.AI, Yann LeCun, Turing Award Laureate, Kaan Terzioğlu, CEO of VEON Group, Toju Duke, founder and CEO of Bedrock AI and Diverse AI, Nick Davydov, venture investor, co-founder and partner of DVC Fund, Joram Wijngaarde, founder and CEO of Dealroom, as well as representatives from leading IT and technology companies.
Digital Almaty is organized by the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Almaty, and Astana Hub (Autonomous Cluster Fund "Park of Innovative Technologies").
The forum will take place on January 31 – February 1, 2025, at the Atakent Exhibition Complex in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
