EBRD and Astana Hub discuss capital raising opportunities for Kazakhstani technology companies

Recently, Astana Hub was visited by guests from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. They got acquainted with the activities of the technopark, learned about the opportunities that the hub's programs provide to IT companies and discussed prospects for future cooperation.


Managing Director of Astana Hub Arkady Seleznev spoke about educational, incubation and acceleration programs implemented in the Technopark. In particular, about the new projects of this year: Techpreneurs, Seed Money and Tech Orda. At the same time, the Scalerator program, focused on traditional IT companies with the potential to enter the global market, aroused special interest of the guests.

 

One of the guests, Holger Wiefel, Regional Head of the EBRD's SME Finance and Development Department in Central Asia and Mongolia, noted the possibility of attracting domestic and foreign capital to Kazakhstani technology companies. As a regional manager, Mr. Vifel oversees the issues of consultations, development and financing for SMEs in the Central Asia and Mongolia region. 

 

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was established in 1991. The Bank develops partnership relations with a wide range of stakeholders: representatives of local and international businesses, investors. With 30 years of experience, the Bank plays an important role in the international capital markets, carrying out a wide range of transactions on it.
