Astana Smart City Results: Top 10 Startups Improving Life in the Capital

The Astana Digitalization and Public Services Department, in collaboration with Astana Hub and Astana Innovations, has successfully concluded the Astana Smart City Accelerator program. This initiative focuses on integrating cutting-edge technologies into key aspects of urban infrastructure. On November 20, the program culminated in the Demo Day event, where participants showcased their innovative solutions that are already enhancing the quality of life in the city.

The selected startups have been deployed in state clinics, schools, public transport, and city infrastructure services in Astana. These solutions optimize the operations of medical institutions, reduce the workload on doctors, improve safety in educational and social facilities, conserve resources, and enhance city services.

“These technologies have already demonstrated their effectiveness. They simplify the lives of city residents while making the city safer, greener, and more convenient. We are proud that Astana is becoming a hub for innovations that can be scaled globally,” said Tanat Uskembayev, Managing Director of Astana Hub.

The program generated significant interest within the tech community. Out of 128 applications, 107 startups passed the initial selection, and finalists received up to 5 million tenge in funding through Astana Hub’s Seed Money program. Participants also benefited from expert guidance and access to infrastructure for testing their solutions under real-world conditions.

The next steps include scaling the most effective solutions to other regions of Kazakhstan and expanding into international markets, further solidifying Astana’s position as a model smart city and innovation leader.
