Kazakhstan Expresses Interest in Joint AI Projects Within the Central Asia–China Framework

On June 17, 2025, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced Kazakhstan’s interest in launching joint projects in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and the establishment of research centers and technology parks within the Central Asia–China cooperation framework.


Speaking at the second Central Asia–China summit, the Head of State highlighted China’s remarkable achievements in science and innovation, noting its role as a global leader in the development of artificial intelligence.

“China’s impressive progress in space exploration and quantum technologies has firmly established the country as a global tech powerhouse. This fall, the Alem AI artificial intelligence center will open in Astana. We propose using the Astana Hub platform to promote smart innovation under the Central Asia–China framework. We also invite international partners to join this promising initiative,” said President Tokayev.
