Incubation programs at universities have always been considered an important resource for growing talent. One of such forges of personnel in the innovative environment of Kazakhstan is KBTU Startup Incubator.

KBTU Startup Incubator allows each student with ideas to choose the most competitive idea and go all the way from Maximum Competitive Idea (MCI) to Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

The incubation program takes place in the form of an elective discipline "Startups & Technological Entrepreneurship", where students form teams consisting of different specialists from different faculties and different courses. During the course "How to launch your startup", each student participates in the creation of a startup. Trainees gather in groups and make projects in teams. The course is designed to help students develop their IT competencies, teamwork and business skills. The training program covers the entire process of creating a startup, starting with the search for an idea and ending with the release of a product to the market. The result of this course is the preparation of a real MVP, its launch and entry into the acceleration program, into the pre-accelerator or the independent existence of the product on the market.

During the 2017-2020 academic years, more than 100 teams with ideas came to KBTU Startup Incubator. Several maximally competitive Ideas (MCI) were selected. 27 startup teams have reached the Minimum viable Product (MVP) stage. As a result, there are 7 projects left, the founders of which continue to engage in startups after the end of the incubation program and the subject "Startups and Technological Entrepreneurship". Also 3 teams are semifinalists of the Republican contest of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Startup Bolashak MeninArmanym.kz. For the 7th incubation stream in the spring semester 2020, more than 100 applications were submitted from ideological students of all faculties.

In September, recruitment for the 9th incubation stream began.

Recently, the Enactus KBTU team took second place in the special digital startups contest Enactus Kazakhstan “Live on the Bright Side" and won half a million tenge in the Beeline digital projects competition.
