National Managing Holding Baiterek, together with Astana Hub, held the final stage of the Baiterek Hackathon at the alem.ai International Artificial Intelligence Center, dedicated to developing an MVP of the Unified Business Support Portal. Eight finalist teams presented digital solutions that could ultimately serve as the foundation for a single platform enabling entrepreneurs to access government support measures through a one-stop-shop approach.
The hackathon attracted developers from across Kazakhstan. A total of 57 applications were submitted in response to the technology challenge posted on the Astana Hub platform. Following a preliminary expert selection process, the eight strongest teams advanced to the final round. The main objective of the project is to create a digital platform that will consolidate the support measures offered by the Holding and its subsidiaries into a single service, while replacing the existing web portals of the subsidiaries. The portal is expected to enable entrepreneurs to identify the most suitable support measure, submit an application, and track every stage of its review within a single digital environment.
The final stage was attended by Rustam Karagoyshin, Chairman of the Management Board of Baiterek Holding; Bekbolat Moldabekov, Vice Minister of National Economy; executives of the Holding's subsidiaries; representatives of development institutions, Astana Hub, and the expert community. During Demo Day, the finalist teams presented their projects in a pitching format and answered questions from the jury.
Opening Demo Day, Rustam Karagoyshin emphasized that the hackathon's greatest value lies in the opportunity to create a digital product capable of becoming part of the Holding's digital ecosystem and serving entrepreneurs across the country.
"The prize fund is an additional source of motivation. The most important goal is to create a product that will serve the entire country. Today, Baiterek is undergoing digital transformation, and it is essential for us to see modern solutions that can make government support measures more accessible and convenient for businesses. We are prepared to make significant decisions to ensure that the best ideas are put into practical use," the Chairman of the Holding emphasized.
According to the Chairman, user convenience should be the key principle in developing the Unified Business Support Portal. Entrepreneurs should not have to understand the internal processes of development institutions; instead, the system itself should determine the appropriate support instrument and provide the simplest possible path to obtaining it.
"Our goal is to ensure that entrepreneurs come to one place and quickly receive answers to their questions. Clients should not have to adapt to our processes or know all the Holding's products. On the contrary, the system should understand their needs, recommend the appropriate support measures, and guide them through every stage. This simple, modern, and user-centric approach forms the foundation of the Unified Business Support Portal," Rustam Karagoyshin noted.
The winner of the Baiterek Hackathon was Application Xpress, while Geometry took second place. Third place was shared by Muslima Kosmagambetova, a student at SDU University specializing in information technology, and IZIPAQ. The total prize fund amounted to KZT 7 million: the winner received KZT 3 million, second place was awarded KZT 2 million, and third place received KZT 1 million. The submitted solutions will be reviewed by Baiterek Holding for further consideration in the development of the Unified Business Support Portal.
