Applications are open until April 30 (inclusive) via the link.
The hackathon is designed as a competition to develop innovative AI solutions using the AlemPlus platform – a digital environment that provides participants with access to LLM models, databases, No-Code and Low-Code tools, file storage, and deployment infrastructure. Participants will be tasked with building functional MVP solutions focused on real-world use cases in areas such as finance, logistics, agriculture, cybersecurity, tourism, and game development, and presenting them to an expert jury.
The total prize pool amounts to $18,000, including a grand prize of $10,000. In addition to cash awards, top teams will have the opportunity to showcase their projects on the stage of the International Center for Artificial Intelligence alem.ai and continue developing their solutions through acceleration programs and pilot initiatives.
“AlemPlus Hackathon is the first event of its kind to set a new standard for working with AI tools in the region. In just 48 hours, teams will build and test AI solutions for real business challenges, delivering fully functional MVP products. Our goal is not only to identify talent but to launch solutions capable of entering the market and strengthening Central Asia’s position in the global AI industry. We expect participation from teams across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, and view the hackathon as a tool for building strong tech teams and accelerating the development of practical solutions,” said Zhanerke Yegeubayeva, Managing Director of Astana Hub.
The hackathon will be held in a hybrid format: participants can join either offline at the Astana Hub venue or online from anywhere in the world. The participation format does not affect project evaluation – all teams will be assessed equally based solely on the quality of their solutions.
For offline participants, 30 spots with accommodation at Startup House on the Astana Hub campus are available. Due to limited capacity, offline participation will be granted through a competitive selection process. Selected participants will stay on-site for the entire duration of the hackathon, with access to workspace, infrastructure, meals, and continuous expert support. This format enables full immersion, allowing participants to live and work together while collaborating with teams, entrepreneurs, and mentors, and building strong professional networks.
The final stage of the hackathon will take place on May 22 in the form of a Demo Day at alem.ai in Astana, where top teams will present their projects to the jury and compete for prizes. The AlemPlus Hackathon is organized by Astana Hub with the support of the Fund for Digital Initiatives of the Eurasian Development Bank.
