Minister of Digital Development Opens Shymkent Hub

Today, Shymkent Hub opened in Shymkent, making it the 15th regional tech park in Kazakhstan run by Astana Hub. The center is set to boost technological entrepreneurship, grow a startup culture, and advance the IT industry and digital education in the area.

During the opening, organizers showcased some of the country’s major tech startups, including Tolem, Alaqan, Digital Cargo, and iUtest. The event also featured exhibits from tech companies, robotics schools, and private tech schools involved in the Tech Orda program, along with innovative projects from the city of Shymkent.

"The opening of the Shymkent Hub regional technology park is not just an important event for the city of Shymkent but also a crucial milestone in the development of Kazakhstan's entire tech industry. We plan to replicate this model across all regions of the country by the end of this year. These centers serve as catalysts for innovation, providing young talents with access to best practices and resources to bring their ideas to life. Initiatives like this are essential for supporting talented specialists in the regions, fostering their professional growth and development. Without a doubt, the IT hub will give new momentum to the development of innovative and technological projects in Shymkent," said Zhaslan Madiyev, head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in his speech.

Shymkent Hub will serve as a platform for implementing Astana Hub’s educational and incubation programs. The hub will host a variety of events, including meetups, Pizza Pitch, workshops, Speaker Talks, Idea Battle, and more, all aimed at fostering an active tech community. During the incubation period, startup project participants will receive training in the basics of entrepreneurship, support in attracting investment, assistance with financial management, and other essential skills.
