Minister of Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev Holds Meetings in Serbia

During a working visit to Serbia, Kazakhstan's Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev, engaged in a series of meetings aimed at fostering cooperation in information technology, digitalization, and innovation.

A key meeting took place with Serbia’s Minister of Information and Telecommunications, Dejan Ristic. The discussions focused on joint initiatives in GovTech, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, and innovation. The two sides agreed to cooperate with Astana Hub, promote the benefits of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), and explore Serbia’s successful practices in tech service exports.

The Minister also toured the State Data Processing Center (SDPC) in Kragujevac, recognized as a model of efficient digital infrastructure. Certified under the European Tier IV standard, the SDPC is renowned for its reliability, security, and efficiency. It provides services not only to Serbia’s public administration but also to global IT giants like Oracle, IBM, and Huawei, enhancing Serbia’s reputation as a technological leader.

Serbia's integration into the CERN global computing network was another area of focus. Serbia, the seventh European country and the tenth globally to join this network, processes data for international scientific research, an initiative that piqued Kazakhstan’s interest.

Kazakhstan's digital advancements, particularly its ambitious plans in artificial intelligence, were praised by the Serbian delegation.

Serbia’s tech sector, with exports reaching nearly 4 billion euros in 2024, positions the country as a promising partner for Kazakhstan. Collaborative efforts in digitalization, science, and innovation are expected to strengthen bilateral ties and unlock new opportunities for technological advancement in both nations.
