Therefore, the development of artificial intelligence and digital competencies is a matter of national competitiveness.
This year, the hackathon, organized by the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan in partnership with Astana Hub and the Blockchain & AI Technology Center (BAITC), has reached a new scale. More than 3,000 developers from 20 cities across Kazakhstan will spend ten days working on real-world challenges provided by global industry leaders such as inDrive and Solana Superteam Kazakhstan, competing for a total prize fund of KZT 20 million.
A key feature of the anniversary edition is the social and public-sector focus of the technical challenges. inDrive has tasked participants with applying artificial intelligence to address priority issues within the public sector.
In particular, developers will be required to create an AI-powered system for the automated analysis of legislation, capable of identifying conflicting regulations across legal acts issued by different government agencies that govern the same area of activity. This solution is expected to provide unprecedented transparency within the regulatory framework. The second challenge focuses on implementing AI-based scoring for agricultural producers in the allocation of subsidies, helping ensure targeted and efficient use of public funds.
At the same time, Solana Superteam Kazakhstan has introduced challenges focused on developing Web3 products and services within the Solana blockchain ecosystem, aimed at creating global technology solutions capable of scaling to millions of users worldwide.
According to Magzhan Madiyev, CEO of Astana Hub, artificial intelligence is significantly lowering barriers to entry in software development and effectively democratizing the creation of technology products. For this reason, the hackathon format has been extended, allowing participants to focus on building viable products within the ecosystem. The best projects will receive further support through Astana Hub’s acceleration programs.
