In Kazakhstan, the state service for the accreditation of scientific and scientific-technical activity entities has been fully transitioned to an online format. Application submission, document review, decision-making, and the issuance of accreditation certificates are now carried out exclusively through the National Innovation System’s One Window digital platform at astanahub.com.
Previously, the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in partnership with Astana Hub, launched a pilot project to digitize this public service. Since November 21, 2024, applicants have been able to submit documents through the National Innovation System’s One Window platform, simplifying interaction with the authorized body, reducing processing time, and making the accreditation process more accessible. The updated regulations mark the next stage of this initiative, formalizing the transition from a pilot digital format to a fully online accreditation process for individuals and legal entities engaged in scientific and scientific-technical activities.
The changes were introduced by Order No. 63 of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 11, 2026, which amended the Rules for the Provision of the State Service “Accreditation of Scientific and (or) Scientific-Technical Activity Entities.”
An accreditation certificate confirms the official status of an organization or researcher and certifies compliance with the requirements of Kazakhstan’s legislation in the field of science. Accredited entities receive:

Access to government grants;

Eligibility to participate in scientific competitions;

Opportunities to be included in innovation programs and initiatives.

Since the launch of the online format through the National Innovation System’s One Window platform, a total of 131 accreditation certificates have been issued to scientific and scientific-technical activity entities, including 96 certificates issued to individuals and 35 to legal entities.
