The main campus of the university will be located on the territory of EXPO in Astana. The university will be integrated with the infrastructure of the Astana Hub and the International Center for Artificial Intelligence. Alem.ai , which will provide access to modern computing power, cloud services and advanced technological solutions.
The training is scheduled to begin on September 1, 2026. Bachelor's and master's degree programs based on the AI+X model will be launched in the first academic year.
The AI+X educational model provides for the use of artificial intelligence in key sectors of the economy, including finance, energy, healthcare, public administration and industry.
The AI Research Hub, a national research platform for developing AI solutions, attracting international grants and implementing industrial projects, will be created on the basis of the university.
A separate direction will be the formation of the national AI+X consortium with the participation of leading universities in Kazakhstan. The University of Artificial Intelligence will become a competence center in this field, and partner universities will provide industry-specific training for specialists in areas such as medicine, energy, industry, construction, and public administration.
The University will also develop international cooperation with leading foreign universities and research centers. This will make it possible to implement joint educational programs, double degree projects and scientific research.
The creation of the university is aimed at forming a full–fledged ecosystem of artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan, from personnel training to the introduction and commercialization of technologies. The University will become a key platform for the development of the AI industry and strengthening Kazakhstan's position as a regional technology leader.
