Regional IT hubs will open soon in the three cities in Kazakhstan 

Astana Hub launches regional IT hubs in Aktobe, Zhetysu, and Zhambyl regions. It is planned to open regional hubs in Kazakhstan this year.


During the visit to the Aktobe region, the premises of the IT Hub Aqtobe were approved, and the layout, roadmap, and KPI for 2023 were developed. By the end of spring this year, IT Hub Aqtobe will begin its activities. 

After the meeting with Taldykorgan Higher Polytechnic College and Zhetysu University. Zhansugurova, a course on the basics of entrepreneurship Startup Academy, No/Low Code School, and Freelance School has been embedded into the curriculum.

During the round table on the territory of Taldykorgan Higher Polytechnic College with the head of the Department of Education of the Zhetysu region, Aizhan Mamanovna Adambekova, and the head of the digitalization department of the Zhetysu region, issues of cooperation and the opening of a regional IT hub were discussed. 

“The development of regional IT communities is one of the important tasks for us this year. There is a lot of talented startup folk living in the regions and we will strive to create appropriate conditions for them so that they can implement their IT ideas and develop technological entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan,” said Alina Abdrakhmanova, Managing Director of Astana Hub. 

A memorandum of cooperation was also signed between Astana Hub, the International Taraz Innovation Institute named after Sherkhan Murtaza, and Akimat of the Zhambyl region. According to the results of the trip, the opening date of Zhambyl IT Hub was determined. In addition, the first regional ITII Hackathon-2023 was held in the region today, which included a panel session at which the director of the Regional Development office of Astana Hub, Aida Dusova discussed topical issues of the IT sphere with representatives of IT communities and the rector of the International Taraz Innovation Institute Marat Bayandin. 

We remind you that the opening of IT hubs in the regions of Kazakhstan is being implemented as part of the Startup Orda project.

Startup Orda develops regional startup incubators through a joint partnership of Astana Hub with local partners. The program aims to prove that startup culture and IT movement exist not only in the cities of Almaty and Astana.
