The Country's Digital Future: 10 Regions Host Large-Scale IT Forums

Regional forums on digitalization were held across Kazakhstan in cities including Kostanay, Kokshetau, Taldykorgan, Uralsk, Taraz, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Shymkent, Kyzylorda, Semey, and Petropavlovsk, attracting more than 3,000 participants. These forums served as vital platforms for exchanging experiences, discussing contemporary trends, and advancing digital transformation efforts across the regions.

Key topics such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, big data, and technology implementation in government agencies were actively explored. One highlight was the Startup Alley, where young companies showcased their innovative projects, connected with potential investors, and gained valuable feedback from mentors. Among the notable startups were Kostanay-based Aitomaton, specializing in automating business processes and applying AI solutions in agri-tech, and Shymkent-based Amanbay Tech, which recently launched an internship program for youth.

"The regional digitalization forums have demonstrated that Kazakhstan's regions are achieving remarkable progress in tech development and are pivotal to the nation's digital transformation. These events are driving the growth of regional startups by fostering interaction with key tech market players. Initiatives originating from the regions are significantly impacting the country's ecosystem, highlighting their vital role in shaping a digital Kazakhstan. We take pride in the achievements of our young talents and remain committed to supporting their future endeavors," said Daniya Akhmetova, Managing Director of Astana Hub.

The forums featured IT school exhibitions, workshops on game development, artificial intelligence, and mobileography, as well as hackathon finals, startup battles, and award ceremonies. The events also facilitated the signing of memorandums and recognized contributions from leading tech industry representatives and partners.

One of the standout moments came from Ust-Kamenogorsk, where Roman Lineitsev, the founder of the popular mobile game Grand Mobile, addressed the forum in his hometown. Motivated by the forum's energy, Roman doubled the hackathon prize fund at Oskemen Hub, contributing personally to the regional ecosystem's growth. "It’s essential to remember our roots and support those just beginning their journeys. I see tremendous potential here," Roman Lineitsev emphasized.

The forums drew not only local developers but also large technology companies and leading tech specialists. Representatives from global firms visited regional centers to share expertise, conduct training sessions, and introduce grant programs.

Events such as Digital Aqmola, Jaiq Digital Day, IT Innovation Fest Oskemen Hub, Digital Abai IT Forum, FinAI Forum Zhambyl Hub, Shymkent IT Hub – Platform of Opportunities, Qostanai Digital Day, DevFest Taldykorgan, Digital Kyzylorda Forum, and SKO Hub were organized by Astana Hub, with support from the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, local akimats, and private partners.
